Regular period is in mid-April. Think we're looking to add a PG to round out this class.

Yea I just took those from Rivals/ESPN. I remember now that he tweeted he's 7'0", but needs to put on weight. At that height he could be the dominant C that VT has always lacked underneath.

Yeah it's pretty exciting, especially if Dot keeps improving and with JVZ showing more than I thought he would

Its just said we weren't able to keep Dorian Finney-Smith or Harrell, I just think that's a lot of talent for a program to lose

Yea, losing those players hurts. But I was under the impression that after firing Greenberg VT basketball would slip back into their Big East days. With losing the DFS and Trez, Green with only 1 season left, and JJ being way behind on the recruiting trail for 2013, I figured we were toast. However, JJ managed to put together a surprisingly impressive class given the limited time he had. Class isn't closed yet while we are still looking for a PG, and apparently we are in the race for a couple of decent ones.

Personally, I figured even if JJ was a good coach, that we were screwed because of the lack of future talent. JJ recovered the program, though, and if he proves to be a good coach, then he could bring the program to a higher level than under the Greenberg days.

Watching OK State beat the crap out of Tennessee in the Puerto Rico Tip Off semifinals. They'll be a nice OOC test for the Hokies. How good is Iowa this year?

Iowa has been pretty bad in recent years. Glad we get OK State and Iowa at home.

So far Iowa has beaten Texas-Pan American (86-55), Central Michigan (73-61), and Howard (66-36), all at home. They lost their leading scorer from last year, but brought in a good freshman class including guard Mike Gesell (started all 3 games, 15pts and 5 assists vs. Central Michigan) and Adam Woodbury (7'1", also started all 3 games). I think they were picked to finish 7th in the B1G this year. Which isn't bad, considering the B1G has 5 teams in the top25 right now and a 6th receiving a lot of votes (Minnesota). Should be a good challenge.

Basketball recruiting is pretty quiet compared to football. Rev Zeke (BBall recruiting guru) posted on TSL at some point that we are in the mix for 2 PGs that he would rate in the top 150. No names given though.

Was channel surfing today and I'm 80% sure I heard Seth Greenberg's voice a color commentator for ESPN during Washington/Ohio St game.

Oklahoma State currently ripping NCSU a new one in Puerto Rico. NCSU looks lethargic.

Looks like that Okie State game will tell us a lot about this team

Oh wow... You're right. Just saw the result of their 20 point win over NC State. That's going to be our first real test (besides maybe Iowa who is also untested this season).
