The plan was to go in and get the tie. No way our guys could have won at Azteca. They did exactly what Jurgen wanted them to do. This is a win for us really. After the next Jamaica game in June, 4 of our next 6 qualifiers are at home so we have a good shot at making the WC now

We didn't look good but our plan worked and we got a point playing Mexico in Mexico. That rarely happens. Group is very tight but I think we'll make the WC now.

You know if you really want to watch it its archived on ESPN3.com. And if any of you are really big soccer fans, they have most of the recent international matches on there as well. Most of them weren't good matches by the looks of it, but Spain-France is on there, Serbia-Croatia (talk about a crazy rivalry), maybe a few more interesting ones.

nice, thanks for the tip doodoo. Probably won't watch it, I dont really like watching a past sporting event if i already know the outcome, kind of takes away from the suspense

That was part of their strategy. A win or tie got them 1 up on Mexico. Mexico tied 2 games so that only got them 2 points. USA lost 1 and won 1 so that gave them 3. Now USA has 4 points and Mexico has 3. It's so hard for the USA to beat Mexico in the Azteca anyway they just wanted to make sure Mexico didnt score anything. And with Howard being out, defense was their best strategy.
