What games you think have a great chance at being upsets??

I'm not counting 9 seeds over 8 seeds.

I got:

12 Harvard over 5 Cincy

11 Nebraska over 6 Baylor

12 NC State/Xavier over 5 St Louis

11 Iowa/Tennessee over 6 U Mass

With so many people picking Michigan State and Louisville as 4 seeds, it would be monumental disasters to sooooo many people's brackets if they got upset by Delaware and or Manhattan.

Delaware actually had some really close losses against good teams on the road. Almost won at Villanova. Played at Ohio State and was a game till the end too.

Well, you can put me in the "no faith in Louisville" camp, I think they are a SS maybe EE team, but I don't see them going past that. Having said that, 0% chance that Louisville goes down in the 1st round. Pitino lords over former assistants and I doubt Masielo will be an exception. Don't believe me? Ask Billy Donovan. (though I think Florida would annihilate Louisville right now)

In my first and only bracket which I did tonight (will do several more tmr), I have the following:

Nebraska over Baylor
NC State/Xavier over St. Louis
Iowa/Tennessee over U Mass
Harvard over Cincy
ND State over Oklahoma

I think it's kinda bad that I have every 7 advancing. When is the last time that happened?

I picked 3. You guys are gonna laugh at 2 if them:

ND State over Okie
Tulsa over UCLA
Mercer over Duke

While I think it's unlikely Duke loses to Mercer, there isn't another 14 seed that would have a better chance (apparently, just from what I've heard about Mercer being very big inside) and so I think Duke is the likeliest of 3 seeds to lose.

UCLA lost to Washington State. They can beat anyone (you know if you watched the Pac-12 Championship game) and CERTAINLY lose to anyone on a given night.

Don't think they are too far-fetched at all, even if they are unlikely to happen.

I actually really like the matchup of Harvard vs UC, for Cincinnati, and here's why:

Harvard has no height. They play 3 guards and 2 forwards, that are both 6'7". That plays right into Cincinnati's strength on defense. They struggle the most when there is an inside game, since UC lacks size in the paint. Because UC does the same, 3 guards and basically 2 Forwards, they are really good on ball screens as they can switch defenders without losing size and creating mis-matches, which is what Harvard likes to do. It's one of the biggest reasons that UC is 4th in the nation in defense at 94pts per 100.

Harvard shoots slightly better than UC overall, but they haven't faced the kind of defenses that Cincinnati has in Louisville, SMU, and UConn...UC rebounds better, as Harvard is 207th in the nation and UC is 106th, a difference of just 2 rebounds, but again, if you look at competition, UC has played better competition.

I think UC will struggle, because as usual...they struggle to score, but in the end, I think UC's defense and rebounding will do the dirty work and get them a win.

Now, as for the potential matchup in round 2 with MSU...you can forget about that one. Outside of a historic day of offense, or abysmal showing by MSU, I expect State to win by 10+

I think Amaker takes Cronin in a cage match, but UC is going to abuse Harvard on the court.

good job OP...but

I don't think #5 Cincinnati will lose to #12 Hawvud, but agree re:

#11 Nebraska taking #6 Baylor down,
#11 Tennessee beating #6 UMass and
#12 NCState putting a whupass on #5 St.Louis

I really like NC State to win a few early games. They have what most teams have in the NCAA's in the past to win...a legit scorer in Warren.

I don't think Mercer will win, but I waa seriously debating the other 2. Okie is suspect.

tOSU is suspect. They struggle big time on offense sometimes, but there defense is so great. If a team shoots well from outside against them it is definitely a possibility.

Harvard over Cincy? Hahahahaha

Harvard almost pulled the upset last year and they were a 14 seed I believe. They are one of the most efficient teams in the country.
