Big pickup with the commitment of Ways. Gotta give props to Hoke & Company for keeping the in-state talent a priority. That speaks volumes about the direction of the program and where it has come from just three years ago.

He's in? Kewl. Another 6-3 / 6-4 WR. How's his speed?

If I recall, he's in the 175 -195 lb range... Could use some weight. Likely to R.S.?

It would be a shock for him to see any playing time before the 2017 season. Speed isn't his greatest attribute.

he has decent wheels, not as fast as Chesson but much faster than Dukes.

As solid as this class is, why do I get the feeling that Hoke would trade them all to get Peppers to sign?

Peppers is an elite level talent who can play multiple positions and is already college ready... there was a dude who was beasting it up at Michigan about 15 years ago this guy really reminds me of...

with Gallon and Dileo graduating after this year it would make sense to make Scott a priority but I just don't see him coming to Michigan... he was supposed to be a package deal with Cole, but second Cole committed to Michigan he backed off and stated that he needs more time. I've also heard that his parents want him to stay in Florida... Williams is similar to Ways, so depending on how many receivers Michigan is planning to take in this class, Ways may have taken his spot... Personally I think there will be more attrition and room for taking 4 receivers will be available. With the spots left, I would take 2 OL, 1 LB, 1RB, 2 WR, and the best available athletes...

Yeah, I think Cole needs to work on him and Campbell. If we get both of them you will never have to listen to me whine about our receivers again.

You mean after we get Peppers and Hand in tow? I don't necessarily think we need more receivers, just better ones.

yeah Campbell would be sweet, and he has been saying more positive things than Scott has... with him and Harris we would be set...

By best available athletes I mean someone from the Westphal/Peppers/Hand/McDowell group... I think we'll have room for all of them.

Looks like OLB Chase Winovich will decide between us and the nuts soon. He is scheduled to be in AA may 10th.

Any clue if Michigan has a beat on a RB in this class? Seems like everyone they have offered is either committed or has us pretty far down the list.

I think Hilliman is a possibility in 2014, apparently we'll take some generic 3 star filler in this class, and try to get someone elite in 2015...

Damien Harris would be a great get. With his size (or lack of) he would be hard to find behind our line. I also think Cass Tech has a kid that seems like a natural for Michigan.

It will be nice if Michigan can get to a point in recruiting where we have a balanced class and not be focused on "positions of need". I know a lot of this was brought on by the philosophy change that occurred when Hoke was brought in.

I've no inside info here, so take this FWIW, but I can't imagine that a more 'balanced' approach to recruiting is the ultimate goal. And, some of it may come down to who declined the UM offer, if a couple of kids offered had accepted, the positional make-up of the last two classes might have been more balanced, tho its my understanding that an emphasis on OL, LB's and DL was intentional due to the unconscionable lack of scholarship athletes in those positions.

Rats.... that was supposed to read:
>>I can't imagine that a more 'balanced' approach to recruiting is ~NOT~ the ultimate goal.<<

Sorry for any confusion, and my lousy proof reading.

Agreed Coyote. The goal would be to get enough depth that you take the best players you can regardless of position. I think this mess started when RR took over and looked at the lack of skill position players on the roster and over compensated. Hoke then was forced to do the same with the lines when he came in. The flip flopping of philosophy didn't help either.

J, you're thinking of Weber from Cass Tech... he would be a good get in the next class...
