Mickey Gall beat CM Punk with a rear-naked choke at 2:14 in the first round. Gall took down Punk in the opening seconds and it was over.
Wow, what a joke...I'm sure he made some nice bank for it though!!!

Well, at least his nickname says it all... dudes a Punk.Punk got submitted in 3 minutes
That is what ticks me off, people were stupid enough to waste money to see him get wasted just like we all knew, and he ends up the winner because he lines his pockets with a nice payday.Wow, what a joke...I'm sure he made some nice bank for it though!!!

He should make bank. If this PPV did anything over 325K, it was because of Punk's drawing power. His money is likely tied into PPV buys.

Disagree. Pro wrestling fans are notorious for illegally streaming PPV's. And the majority of MMA fans don't care about this guy off the streets. He's simply not profitable in any way.
You can disagree all you want, but Brock was the PPV king till recently. Punk was a far bigger WWE start than Brock at the time when they began their respected MMA careers.
We will find out in the next few weeks when the PPV numbers come out. Like I previously said, if the number is higher than the low 300s, that is irrefutable proof that Punk is a draw.
Punk has never been a bigger star than Brock. Like I said, Punks' fan base is made up of 18-40 year old single male wrestling fans who illegally stream wrestling PPV's. They're not the wrestling fans who attend the shows and actually spend money on the product. Sure, they watched. But they didn't pay for it. MMA fans were buying the show either way, nothing to do w Punk. We all knew what would happen.
2 years to train, with elite coaches/training partners, no distractions, no job, no kids, just a wife and loads of money and dude goes out there and gets demolished in 2 minutes.
There are guys on this board who would have done better with less.
When Brock began his MMA career, he was not as big of a star as he was after he retired from MMA & returned to the WWE. Punk was unquestionably the bigger star at their MMA career beginnings.
Again, we will see. If the PPV number comes back greater than the low 300s, you can't claim he is not a draw. That low 300k number comes from Dave Meltzer, PPV expert.
Doubtful. Pro fighting is REALLY difficult. If there's some very athletic 20 somethings on this board with backgrounds in HS or collegiate wrestling or the like, maybe. Anyone else though? They're getting their asses handed to them
Even when athletic guys like you are talking about come into our gym, they are typically 6 months to a year away from being able to fight on a decent amateur card. Jumping to the UFC on 2 years of experience would take an athletic freakDoubtful. Pro fighting is REALLY difficult. Brock was a H
Brock has always been a bigger star than Punk. That's why he was booked to go over him easily when they fought. Sorry, but Punk is a just a dude who got a bunch of anti-authority wrestling dorks hot for a minute. His stardom was 15 minutes, tops.
That's just not true. When Brock left the WWE to try the NFL he was booed out of the building during his last match with the company against Goldberg at WM. His star lost it's luster and was very very low to the point WWE wouldn't consider bringing him back until after he was a became UFC champ and rebuilt his star/brand. Punk lost to Brock because it was booked that way. Bigger star had absolutely nothing to do with it!!!

So ya...no more "pro wrestlers" in MMA, ok? Punk is no Lesnar.
