My suggestion since we have a new guy is a partner draft or no partners and a year restriction no cap.

I like the idea of a partner with a cap but it seems unneccessary unless this...

Partners work to create two lineups, one 7 man rotation 6 man BP and 5 bench players that all will play.

In a 7 game series format each SP with pitch one game and you will switch lineups every game.

18 - positional
7 SP
6 RP
5 bench - (C, 2 IF’s, OFs and PR)

36 rounds

Cap rules are what @MilkSpiller22 suggested
So, you suggest against a partner draft, but post a complete outline for a partner draft that you think we should do?

If we do a partner CAP draft I think this could be an idea. If not, we do a partner draft just with NO CAP, add some other rules to replace cap

I dont like the 7 different lineups because not every series will/should go 7 games and thats a lot of work to post all that game by game... Wait, maybe I do like this...

Lol the only thing that would be in question is the last 3 SP’s and I doubt a sweep happens. So we are talking about the last 2 SP’s (6-7)...

Instead of $175 make the cap $250? Since we are adding 9 more players.

36 players - $250 cap

That’s about $7 per player

Does it have to be a cap though? I'd like to do a decades draft where you have to draft at least 1 player who played in each decade from 1900 to this 1. The rest of your team could be from whenever but you need those requirements. Just a suggestion; I'll be happy with whatever.

How about this?

You will draft 2 players from each decade, only one of which can be a HOFer, MVP or Cy Young Winner. So you cannot have more than 12 HOFers, MVP/Cy Young Winners.

A players first appearance in a game will be the decade they are eligible for.

2000 - Present
1990 - 1999
1980 - 1989
1970 - 1979
1960 - 1969
1950 - 1959
1940 - 1949
1930 - 1939
1920 - 1929
1910 - 1919
1900 - 1909
1871 - 1899

You will draft
C,1B,2B,3B,SS,LF,CF,RF,DH
5 bench players
5 starting pitchers
5 relief pitchers

We did the above draft idea about 15 months ago and I thought it was a good draft.

So does the bench have to play? And...is this a partner draft?

There are MVP's and Cy Young winners...

small subrule amendment...

you can not use more than 1 player from any decade on your bench...

and you must have at least 3 HOF/MVP/CY combined on your bench AND Bullpen...

both protect from punting a decade, and punting bench/BP

and if a player without a MVP or CY and is an OBVIOUS HOFer then they count as HOF...

players like Derek Jeter, shoeless joe, Mariano Rivera, ETC... are hof....

This part I dont agree. If you want to choose them early you can, part of the strategy imo.

This I can go for but to be clear you have to have at least one bench and one BP...

I like and absolutely agree with your first amendment.

I do like the second idea but there are a bunch of could go either way guys like Carlos Beltran so I think we either come up with a list that we all consider HOFers or we don't do idea #2
