Wasn't watching to get laid, that was happening regardless. But it definitely was a welcome break. My suggestion is to watch it before remarking in ignorance. The 25 year restart was something thst had been part of Lynchs original plan. If you dont care to watch it that's also fine. But you are adding little value to this thread with trolling whether it is intentional or not.

I have only seen the first episode and about to watch the second to tonight. I just have regular Showtime so watching them as they broadcast on TV. Also one thing that others seem to miss - Lynch intentionally left the series open ended 25 years ago for the option to restart it if he and Frost wished. I think it's pretty bad ass he followed through.
I wound up watching them on Hulu. I'm not going to give spoilers. But like the original it's very well written. At times it's almost got shades of blue velvet in it imo. I knew Lynch left it open. I believe that played a role in why they went the prequel route. When they released the movie in theatres. I definitely agree while there's always been a major demand to see Twin Peaks return. And a ton of buzz to see the way Lynch and frost would finish the story. The timing to bring back the cult classic really is perfect

I was a bit worried after the first 15 minutes last night but the episodes turned out to great. Really good, and they fit together well.
The casino stuff and home stuff was really funny. Coffee! Cole/Albert stuff was great.

I thought that was hysterical. HELL....OOOO!!!!!! :dhd:

I was worried too. You always worry a little bit when they bring back a great show. But they really did tie the series and the return together well. And the episodes have been great so far imo.

I had the chance to see Episodes 3 & 4 yesterday and I am still loving what I am seeing by Lynch. I thought the Casino scene was hilarious as well and love how Naomi Watts came marching out the house and slapped "Dougi" or Dale in the face. Also loved seeing the notorious "thumbs" up by both Dales. So far so good.

What I don't get though is who is Dougi in relation to Dale and the doppleganger? What am I missing there? And what happened to "Dougi" when Dale took over?

The Casino scene was the best. It had me laughing my ass off. And I agree Naomi Watts was a huge plus. The banter with Cole and Albert was great too tho. Lynch is usually very symbolic. I'm almost wondering with the way everything was connected. If its his way of showing how we are defined by our surroundings from people down to technology. If you notice theres a lot of images of electrical sockets. I've got a feeling the next episode will be very telling. Then I think its a week off before episode 6 is released. Theres so many directions this can go its great.Still the best written series I've seen.Even 25 year later

Put another way...

If you had seen the original, will you know what the hell is going on?

Yeah, it won't really matter. I still don't get what's up with the people around Dougie. Is this what everyone sees when they look at him?

I mean, shit, at least ask if he had a stroke or something.

I have not seen this past Sunday's episode due to travel plans but here's my take thus far...

David Lynch seems to reward those who follow his previous work on Twin Peaks both the old television series and the movie. For instance in Fire Walk with Me, Laura's experience seeing a bloody Annie in her bed and having Laura write it in her diary 25 years ago before her death and then tying that into the new series depicting Dale being stuck in the Black Lodge is genius.

I appreciate last weeks episode in a way but overall felt it was a train wreck. Too slow visuals that were not all that striking. They could have done the whole episode in 10 minutes.

Having said that, I loved the 50s style monster/horror movie ending.

I thought last week's episode brought back the classic Twin Peak's feel with much time being spent on the older characters. Also, while I don't want Dark Cooper to survive, that arm wrestling scene was pretty bad ass. Slowly everything is starting to intertwine and make sense...

Damn good episode tonight. Agent Cooper is finally awake and Eddie Vedder as the guest performer was money. Horrible to see Dark Cooper use his son as a test object and have him blown up.

Loved this episode. Coop coming back was good to see.

The street scene was fantastic.

"What the fuck kind of neighborhood is this?"

What I want to know is after those who find out are "manufactured" and turned into a seed??, what happens next? Do they come back?
