Home win%'s are skewed because all the cupcakes get played there while the tougher games are often times played 50% away or neutral/bowl sites.

Put aside the Charlie Strong years and Texas jokes (looking at you Huskers).

OKlahoma's toughest game every year was arguably TEXAS over the last century or so....

No team has more wins over OU than does texas

None of those TEXAS losses count against their home field record. It is a bit skewed in that regard.

I was there in '05 for the Ohio State Game, very impressive. The last Alabama home game I can remember with that much energy from the crowd was at Legion Field against Tennessee when Peyton Manning was the Tennessee QB.

Those are the kind of games that remind you how good college football can be.

Night game in Baton Rouge. The noise level is insane a greastest home field advantage in the country. Those Cajuns are loud sober but let them drink all day and they lose their minds.

When did Oklahoma University move from Waco, TX to Norman, OK? Was it in 1974?

Honestly they shouldn't. You guys play on a neutral field every year so your home vs home record in this discussion doesn't matter.

FWIW historal records be damned I don't think DKR is that tough of a place to play. I honestly can't remember the last time we lost there.

Saddly it isn't what it use to be. LSU 'fans' that attend games, largely suck. Leave games early or don't show up. Halftime of an SEC game and you have 20k headed for the gates. Pathetic.

Had this conversation in another thread, win percentage is only one way to measure the toughness of a stadium. Their are a variety of factors that doesn't include. Is the team at home winning because their team is significantly better, and if so in those cases would a home crowd impact the game any if at all? It is way to difficult to call one environment the toughest place to play. Some may view toughest place as having the greatest impact on the game such as, time outs called on 3rd and 4th down to to noise levels and delay of game penalties. Also sometimes a team may lose a game at home but it isn't because the stadium had no impact. It is just because the road team made more plays when it counted. There are always unquantifiable factors when it comes to this type of discussion.

So, Oklahoma then.
Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Probably better to just use conference home and away records to look at this. Measure the delta between the two

As to LSU, I think it is pretty odd. Night games there scare most fans, but I don't think anyone is afraid to.play a day game at LSU. Those Cajuns don't get moving until 1 pm the earliest

I already have some preliminary numbers on this.
And yes. Home field advantage seems to be real.
