You're doing it wrong. You're only supposed to start NFL topics if it makes your team look better than everyone else.

I think Arizona has the best 'duo' by a large margin.
What about secondary as a whole??

That's a different question to be fair, and I am kind of stealing from NFL.com topics the past couple of days, but some teams on this list I would immediately get rid of with the Bills being the most extreme example.

Oh i agree, i just think they should rank the secondary as a whole.. Cuz it takes more than two corners to get the job done..

The corner game imo depends on the pass rush, unless your Sherman, Peterson or Revis.. Again imo

The problem with ranking secondaries as a whole is that there are too many variables. Usually a CB2 or CB3 getting hurt means putting on a street level player who is basically a traffic cone for most teams.

But then again, if you have a great pass rush so so players can be pretty good in said secondary..
Or if you have a deep secondary.. Then you factor in great coaching as well, that knows how to put so so players in position to get the job done..

You always rank a secondary as a whole, just like you do the DL, OL, etc..

If Flowers can get back to the way he was playing before 2015, the Chargers CB group of Verrett, Flowers, and Hayward could be among the best in the NFL. Nice to see the Chargers mentioned as just missed, although I'd probably have Verrett/Hayward as the duo right now over Verrett/Flowers.

Assuming we can include inside guys- just throwing stuff against the wall

1. Talib/Harris
2. Peterson/Mathieu
3. Darby/Gilmore
4. Norman/Breeland
5. Butler/Ryan
6. Sherman/Anyone
7. Smith/Amerson
8. Varret/Hayward
9. Slay/Diggs
10. Trufant/Alford

Harris, Talib, Roby the Broncos are 3 deep. Recognize and remember defending Super Bowl Champs. Go Broncos!!!

Amerson, Smith, Carrie, Nelson, Allen and first round draft pick Karl Joseph will be TOP 5 by years end imho..
RAIDERS are deep in the secondary, big time..

Lane played very well coming back from injury last season so if he can stay healthy, him and Sherm could be a top 3 duo.

Exactly and not your fault to think that way. Jeremy Lane is outstanding but most of you don't know that.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Carr and Claiborne will be top 10.

Figured Seattle's duo would be there somewhere.
I think for now Jeremy Lane (the guy who intercepted Brady in SB49 and then broke his arm on the return) will remain underrated if not anonymous. He's always played really well when healthy though, and this season could be where he gets his introduction. Even still, Sherman + random guy would be better to have than most of the duos that people are putting up on their top 10. It's like when you're playing ff and try to trade off 2 "good" players for one elite starter and a backup....you junk the backup after the deal anyway.

I hate lists.

I hate arguing about who's best.

Been thinking about this...I would go

1) Talib/Harris
2) Peterson/Mathieu
3) Darby/Gilmore
4) Sherman/Lane
5) Verrett/Flowers--I question putting this one here as health has not been good for them
6) Butler/Ryan
7) Norman/Breeland
8) Trufant/Alford
9) Slay/Diggs
10) Kirkpatrick/Jones

Oh man I apologize. Not sure how in the world I could miss such a duo.

No argument on the Broncos/Cardinals and their ranking as it's by far the most obvious.

List seems to go full derp after that. Bengals top 5? The BEARS, what the fuck? Giants are not bad but there's better duos IMO and just because they drafted Apple (which was an over draft) doesn't mean it puts them in top 5. Not with an unproven NFL commodity, and spare me on the "He's looked great in training camp!" Pretty sure it was reported that Ryan Leaf looked good in camp.

I'd take Buffalo, San Diego, and Washington or Houston over the Bears, Giants, and freaking Bengals. Seattle needs to see if Jeremy Lane can stay healthy for an entire season before I can list them top 5.
