Brady while good has always been over rated IMHO

he would not have 1 of those rings if not for the tuck rule that was in place at the time

But it is a rule, I don't know if it was called correctly or not and don't care. You can hinge the game on that one play if you want, but the fact is that the Pats against all odds stopped the great Rich Gannon and Raiders that day. The Pats did several things to win the game, before and after the tuck call.

Brady has 3 superbowl rings and the most playoff wins in nfl history. Peyton has the most playoff losses and only 1 superbowl for all those 12 win teams. The only time they won Peyton had a 66 passer rating in the playoffs. A great defense and running game won that superbowl. Give me Brady over Manning any day.

In my opinion Manning has always been better than Brady and it hasn't really been close. Brady seemingly had a better defense and coach which is why he has more rings.

That is a respectful opinion, but you know what they say about that.

That play changed the game JMHO

lots of plays change games I get that but it was a BS rule that's why it got repealed Brady has his ring ETC

And Calling Rich Gannon Great that's good sarcasm

Manning has always been a level above Brady.

I agree the call was crucial and is a crappy rule, too subjective for my taste. Brady had an outstanding season that year and demonstrated his leadership qualities.

As far as the Gannon comment, it was a little in jest but they were really good that season. People forget the Pats beat the Rams "greatest show on turf" that year in reg season and then beat them again in SB. And not with the offense, they won the same way, with the defense.

Hmm, interesting. They are the best of their generation, if you put Manning above Brady I have no problem. People need to analyze the entire body of work and look at what they did for their respective teams.
This year, Manning is way above Brady anyway you slice it, I can live with that.

You guys can waste time debating the careers of Brady and Manning all you want. But here's what we know as fact right now in the present: A good deal, more than what's being talked about, of the Pats struggle on offense is a direct result of Tom Brady himself. Not his WRs, not his OL, he's just flat missing throws.

There is truth in what you say. Honest Pats fans will admit that much. No excuses here.

The Patriots lost to the Rams 24 - 17 in the 2001 regular season. Sorry, but, you must be confused.

Yes I am confused, thanks for the correction. Had to look it up eh? However, the underlying message of my statement stands. Pats went really far that season and the tuck rule was only one play. They got their revenge against the Rams in the biggest game of all.

Manning is like a fine wine. He gets better with age, while Brady is like a beer that goes flat with time!

Speculation is the worst of all evils.

Have you been diagnosed bipolar?

There was a lot of "one play's" that season. To look at the play involving the tuck rule as "one play" is down right silly. Had the play been called correctly, the Raiders would have had position of the ball. What would have happened afterwards? No one knows. Most assume the Raiders would have run the clock down and won the game.

What the posters were talking about earlier is that it has distorted the outcomes and has given Brady a favorable advantage over Manning. You have gone on to claim that that "one play" didn't really matter in the outcome which could be wrong.
