Playstation 4 could debut 2/20

Reading a lot of reports that Sony could release details of their new PS4 at a conference on Feb 20 of this year. Sounds like they wouldn't release dates or prices until later, with the PS4 expected to be on sale by the holiday season.


I am still thrilled with what my PS3 can do, not sure how much better they can make it.

I'll be pissed if it has backwards compatibility to PS1 though, since I just sold all my PS2 games about a year ago

That's the plan. I still have my original large case one. I literally expect any day for it to overheat and just die. I hope it can last at least until the PS4 comes out. Knowing it will be out this year, if the PS3 died today I'd be in a predicament. May go ahead and open it up and regrease the heat sink and all that stuff that dries up and causes the failure. I keep reading about how important it is to do and how easy, but still haven't.

It's gonna be the fucking same thing...only difference is everything will be available on a cloud...if your friend has a ps4 you'll be able to play your shit on your dickwad friends console

that is why I am upset I didn't buy early. Could have had 4 USB plugs and backwards compatability.

With that said, I've heard that a patch recently made a lot of PS2 games playable on all PS3's. Don't have any to try that out though.

So basically what they're saying is, we can't keep up with Microsoft in the graphics department, so we're not even going to try.

I'm going back to X-Box.

Actually the issue is that gaming consoles are becoming absolete since the last generation of systems with smartphones and tablets coming into the picture that can play rather simple games that most people play now a days. Only more serious gamers get consoles now because you can get plenty of games on your phone or tablet that can be just as fun for the user and cost a lot less. This is a way to try and get some of those users back into game consoles.

I'm going to wait for best buy to get their second batch in and get one. Maybe around Christmas or a little after I would guess. Either way I'm getting one.
