you can move up to take the ball on a short hop....

Maybe he could have played it better, but I'd rather blame the scrub pitcher that gave up the hit. Plus there were 5 walks in the inning...

Patience. Patience.

We went 20-10 in the last 30 games last season despite having a team ERA of over 5. We're gonna be fine on offense, and once Cabrera is back, AAAA pitchers and hasbeens won't be put in the 7th inning in a tie game.

Our starters are gonna have to get us to Cabrera, Vizcaino and Johnson.

Most of my post was a joke. I remember a year we lost an opener 8-0 because chipper let a ball go through his 9 hole

Just now watching the replay ... Why the fuck is Flowers 3 feet behind the plate with a runner rounding 3rd and the throw on the way? That's little league shit right there. And if we walked another fucking hitter in the 7th ..... jfc!!

Oh look ... another fucking walk. LMAO!! 5 fucking walks and a 4th pitcher coming in. Why didn't they leave Tehran in? I'll never understand pulling a pitcher who is in control. Makes no fucking sense.

I don't like it, but they tend to let them ease in to the beginning of the season. But with Cabrera out for a couple of weeks, in a 0-0 game, I'd have liked to see Teheran pitch the 7th to get to Vizcaino and Johnson.

Had Kemp not struck out twice with Freeman at third with 1 out, the 7th inning is likely played out a lot differently.

Not a great start, but it is just one game and Teheran and Freeman starting out strong is a good sign.

And if it's any consolation, despite starting out 0-8 in their first 8 opening games, the Mets have the best record in Major League history in season openers.

Regroup for the off day tomorrow, and play like the team that swept the Mets in back to back series in Citi Field at the end of last season.

Bartolo Colon making his Braves debut tonight. Hopefully he won't disappoint.

Markakis strikes out on 3 pitches and doesn't get the bat off his shoulder.

Nice play by Walker to rob Phillips of a single.

Colon looks good through 3. 4 strikeouts and no hits yet.

One of these days, we'll get a hit with RISP and not watch a third strike pass by.
