Now I'm reading everyone but Kendall Jones made it.

I read elsewhere that the 2 above are "academic redshirts". Which apparently means they can practice and all that, but because of academic reasons they have to redshirt and can't play in games. Then if their grades are good enough, they'll be completely eligible next year.

I have no idea how good that source was, it's just some random poster on the rant and I went and looked up what "academic redshirt" meant. I don't think I've heard of that before.

Apparently, being a Bama fan means I've got the college football equivalent of "white privilege" and I'm supposed to feel bad about it.

I'm kinda leaning toward Bateman because of his experience. Hearing nothing but good things about Hurts too tho. It's starting to look like we've got a pretty good problem to have.

We've had much much much worse at the position over the years, that's for sure.

I've read elsewhere that Bateman can't make the deep throws, looks scared and timid, and just isn't really in sync with receivers; however, he has experience and grasps the offense really well. I've heard Barnett has a cannon and is very talented, but takes way too many risks. I've heard nothing but positive things about Hurts though; great arm, great vision, great speed, poised, controlled and really smart (he's a coaches son).

I'm betting though unless Hurts really separates himself from the others that we will see Bateman start against USC with Barnett thrown in occasionally and Hurts gets redshirted. Would not surprise me though if Hurts is our starter and Barnett transfers out next year....
