Today's game against UNC feels huge to me

This GT team has shown that they can do some pretty good things already, but I feel like this game sets the tone for the season.

If they come out and put UNC away easily... I could see this being a 10-12 win season.

If they scrape out a win, I'm still thinking 8-9

If they lose or get blown out, I guess it's hard to say. GT has had games under PJ where they've been shut down and then turned it around the next week and the rest of the season (see Miami '09). But I won't be counting on it.

I'll be interested in the result. GT has put up crazy stats through the first few games, but haven't really played anyone of note. UNC's defense should slow them down, but will it be enough with their offense?

The Coastal is looking pretty competitive through the first few weeks and I don't see any team going through unscathed.

I'll also be looking at the FSU/Clemson game since we've got Clemson next week. They looked pretty good beating Auburn, but Auburn isn't the same team from last year with a poor defense.

I'm just hoping my Hokies do what should be expected with Marshall and put them away and do it early.

I'm interested in the VT game too. They've looked a little lackluster so far, but VT sometimes starts slow.

One thing I have learned is that VT is a team that is not to be counted out until the clock shows 0:00. Assuming we win today, I believe without a doubt that the coastal rep in the acccg will again be the winner of GT vs VT.

As for today, we do not strike as quickly, but we will be scoring. I don't think they can stop us, only slow us down. We will have to see if they can slow us down enough for their offense to be able to keep it close.

I don't think UNC can slow down our offense that much. It seems pretty flawless right now. Turnovers could change that.

I don't have much faith in our defense yet. I liked the adjustments we saw in the 2nd half last week, but that first half performance was ugly

Totally irrelevant little fact:

The last time GT started 4-0, they won the NC. they've had some pretty solid seasons since then, but always got clipped in the first 4.

Also GT has made it into the top 15 every season for the last 6 years. They've only finished there once.

Sucks, but if the offense doesn't have a letdown game, we will be top15 at the end of the year.

Yeah we have kinda tended to start slow the past couple years, but im still not 100% sure where we are this year. At least the past few years we've been tested by a good/great team in the early season, this year we wont be tested until next wk (clemson).

FWIW: A balanced (run/pass) GT offense scares the shit out of me!!!

7 of the GT QB's 17 completions this season have been for TDs? Did I hear that stat correctly?

Here's hoping we don't put the ball on the ground again.

The UNC player took a big hit but held on for the touchdown. Good game so far.

LOL, 10 second run-off. Too bad it took Tennessee's loss in the Music City Bowl to change that. :(

A win is a win. We looked a little sloppy at times today. Lost a fumble in the redzone and then lost 7 easy points when Hill dropped a pass I could have caught blindfolded. He pulled his hamstring at the same time (probably why he dropped it). Still, we won against a defense with a pulse, so overall we looked pretty good. Defense made the plays when they had to, but not when I would have liked.

Good game Heels, we'll take the win and be thankful to escape this trap game.
