After this showing, Oregon should get the 4th spot.

It is going to be either Notre Dame or FLorida.

There is no one other than the Gators who can get past them, even after this horrible showing.

Their resume is still better than A&M, and the committee hates the Group of 5 teams.

No need for some back door 4-2 team when there are plenty of quality 1 loss teams in the wings

Well...

This sucks.

Let's see if I remember them all..

@Edisto_Tiger , @RubinRock, @cwalke3408 .

If I missed some. Include yourself.

Congratulations in on your 6th straight Acc Title and having #2 locked down.

Hopefully we end up doing this again sometime in January. Until then, good luck in the Semi

The Allstate Playoff Predictor still gives Notre Dame a 71% chance to reach the playoff -- the fourth-most likely team after Alabama, Ohio State and Clemson -- based on projections through the ACC Championship game. Despite Notre Dame's loss today, the Fighting Irish have a better resume (per Strength of Record) and are the better team (per FPI) relative to Texas A&M. That being said: Notre Dame is no lock and the Aggies still have a 37% chance to reach the playoff.

Florida making a case. Well, as a two loss team. Bama having tough second half.

Hard to go with A& M. Their best win is against a 3 loss team. They lost by 28 to Alabama. ND lost to a one loss team by 24. Their best win is against the # 1 team (at the time). How do pick A& M in that scenario? SEC has 4 teams in the top 25 and the ACC has 5. Notre Dame beat 4 teams with winning records and 3 with .500 records. A & M beat two teams (Auburn and Florida) with winning records with none that were even .500.
A & M's signature win was against a team with 3 losses.
You could argue one of the Group 5 undefeateds but not A & M. If A & M gets in, it means splitting with Clemson is worse that losing to Alabama.

Unless of course we go with the notion that losing early does not count. Heck , Indiana has a better loss than A & M.

notre dame has the better resume. they've had a good year and should be playing in one of the major bowls at very least. that's if covid doesn't wreck the whole bowl season.
