Tough game to call. Earlier in the year someone started a thread by posting the list of this season's Thursday night games and this one immediately caught my eye. In addition to Reid's return to Philly, I will also get my second look at how the Oregon offense works (or doesn't work) in the NFL. Add to the mixed results that it has produced so far to KC's surprising (to some, but not to me pats self on back) start and I'm looking forward to this one. I'm going with KC in a high scoring squeaker.

Edit: I took the over, but I won't pick this game against the line.

I think this is a bad matchup for the Chiefs, especially on a short week. Their defense is good enough to slow the Eagles down some, but I don't think they have enough offense to beat the Eagles. So I'll go with the Eagles 27-20.

Chiefs are playing good right now, Andy Reid knows the Eagles players better than he know the ones he is coaching, plus Reid's new players are going to be motivated to win this for him.

3rd game in 11 days for Philly. They've gotta be worn down with the fast pace.

But, home game, retiring McNabb, old coach back in town, they'll be pumped. I picked the Eagles but have been picking the Chiefs all week. Should be an entertaining game.

Really interested to see how Philly does against a stout defense.

If you look at the statistics the home team on a Thursday game has the advantage as they typically have an extra day of practice instead of having to travel so they get that just little bit of extra work compared to the competition. Throw in this is the Eagles 2nd home game in a row so they have had some more time to get prepared.

I have the Eagles in this one but definitely a close match up. I would say 27-24.

This game might actually more exciting because itll be sloppy. Anything better than watching Dontari Poe try and chase down Michael Vick on a busted play? I doubt it.

Any Reid doesn't care about Time of Possession. Chip Kelly really doesn't care about Time of Possession. Jamal Charles and Shady McCoy against tired defenses in the 4th? Could get interesting

The away team in Thursday night games (excluding the opening game because it is not on a short week) the road team is 20-35 even though they have come into the game 26 times with a better record compared to that of the home team at 16 and 13 times having the same record coming into the game. So see there is data to support the idea that the home team has an advantage even if they are the inferior team coming into the game. Now realize these are not updated numbers as this is the record up to the middle of last season.

I think many still like the guy. So they will only throw C batteries instead. Or AA batteries if they can't get ahold of them.

Home teams are also kicking ass and taking names this year. Eagles might have to lose the turnover battle by at least 2 to lose.

Hmmm...these were the 2 most turnover prone teams last year. This could get really sloppy

True. The problem is that I really like the Eagles in the matchup but there is a lot of evidence (already) that Chip Kelly might not be a good coach
