I haven't see much Kansas games but based on his numbers so far this year, he doesn't seem like anything special

Thoughts?

Another kid who should stay an extra year, get another year free education, another year of learning fundamentals - BUT WON'T.

I guess where I am with him is sometimes he is not the best KU player on the floor. Sometimes he's a freshman. Other times he is the best player on the court. The potential is there.

An NBA team will take him early in the draft if he wants to go. But he could use another year to work on some things as far as I'm concerned.

this is why I think the recruiting rankings are over rated. I am not saying that wiggins is over rated but a team can build a very strong team around anyone in the top 100 of the recruiting rankings. It just comes down to the returning players, the coaches, and a little bit of luck.

this year it appears that syracuse & arizona did that, last year it was michigan.

He's definitely got the makings of something special.

Just needs more time. Doesn't have the killer instinct yet.

still lots of time this year to find his stride but as of now he should stay another year to gain more confidence.

He reminds me of Andre Drummond at Uconn.. Underachieving but sky is the limit in terms of upside.. Maybe performing a little better than Andre did at college though..

Yeah, I don't think the college performance should change his draft stock much. Great NBA talents can be mediocre in college while great college talents can be mediocre in the NBA. They are 2 different games

He seems a bit over rated now. Parker is the #1 player that will come out now, but Wiggins will still go top 3, probably second behind Parker. They will more then likely flip flop as the season goes on.

no way parker goes ahead of wiggins. If you think that, well then you are forgetting about this little thing called upside. Wiggins has MUCH more than Parker, mainly because he will be a lockdown defender (Parker will NOT be) and he is so much more athletic than parker

Ha! Have you seen Jabari Parker play? Oh yeah. When he played against AZ he had 19 pts and head to head against Kansas he had 27 pts. Wiggins has plenty of "potential". But so does Parker. Saying he is "MUCH" more more than Parker is a bit auspicious.

yes, you are supposed to need 21 shots to score 19 points. I forgot, thanks for helping me out with that.

Look I think Parker is an incredible basketball player, who is by far and away better than Andrew Wiggins RIGHT NOW.

But what the hell does that have to do with NBA potential, exactly?

Here's what most scouts think about Wiggins:

1. He is still the best long-term prospect in the draft
2. He is extremely raw
3. More risky to take at number 1 than Parker or Randle

How else do you compare players if you don't use "right now"? Wiggins hasn't had a better season than Parker so far this season. Wiggins hasn't out-played Parker head to head. Wiggins has been compared to Parker with "potential". Maybe "potential" will get him drafted ahead of Parker. But right now, Parker is a better player, IMHO. So I guess we agree with "right now". Potentially ANY player can be the next Superstud in the Big Show.

do you think the NBA uses "right now"? By that standard, Doug McDermott would be a top 3 pick. Shall we wait and see if that's going to happen, or....

The NBA is the NBA. Each team drafts needs immediately. Each team looks at upside with every pick also, but they want immediate help and not 5 years from now development. If that wasn't the case then players like Sam Bowie wouldn't have been a bust coming out of Kentucky. The fact that Wiggins will get drafted in the top 3 or 4 players means they draft on potential. But if I were a NBA scout there is no way I take Wiggins over Parker to play immediately.
