I picked up Olt for this week because of the matchups and since he bats straight he's headed to Petco for this weekend so by the time the weekend is over he might get 10 additional points given the success of lefties there.

The 1bs there were Jones, Loney, Francisco, Howard, Belt.

according to stats jones is your best option 4 of the pitchers he is facing he has hit a homer off of Screw that righty/lefty crap if a batter has faced a pitcher before plus here are his BA vs these 6 pitchers Trenin is in for gio so no AB vs him but roark 333 zimmer 286 w/hr teheran 250 w/hr harang 389 w/hr and santana 1.000 w/hr Now i admit most of those are small sample size These are all available on cbs in the match up column its 1 of the few things i like about cbs

Just curious but did u pick up cuddyer off waivers? If so it tells u alot about these leagues and batters No way cuddyer is available in a roto league or a league with more than 10 teams he is way too valuable but in these leagues he is just another OF/1b :suds::suds:

Exactly my point.

Instead of going after an "elite 1B", if you are not happy with any of the available options, then find a team with 3 1Bs on their roster and make a lowball offer for a Teixara/Morneau type. Somebody has a really good 1B on their bench. I would target that guy (preferably with an OF or another hitter) rather than pay through the eyes to get a top performer.

You cannot give up Greinke or Cueto if you want any reasonable chance to compete in this league.

Who would I offer for Tex? Rendon? Maybe Molina and could pick up Gomes?

I was honestly pondering dealing Trout for Goldschmidt and something else if warranted. I had even pondered Trout and Beltre for Goldy and Bumgarner. This guy is my close overall fantasy co-gamer and he owns Texeira, he also is a yankees fan so that would be hard but he probably would be willing to deal Goldy. He owns Bumgarner, Tanaka(who he won't trade), Gray, Estrada, Vogelsong, Samardjzia and the C pitchers in Pomeranz and Hughes.

You can try it. Trout is equal to Goldy in terms of value though since OFs are devalued more than the other hitting positions.

As for who to offer for Tex, it all depends on what he needs. If his 2B sucks, he might do Rendon, but it all depends.

His weakness is 3b and some OF. He owns Goldy, Tulo, Kinsler, and has OFs likes Puig, Myers, Holliday. He currently is playing Aviles at 3b with Zimmerman hurt, who is on his bench. And has McCann at C.

You can try it, but I seriously doubt he does it. His OF is fine and if he gets tired of Myers it is real easy to find a good replacement. Trout is a luxury.

As for 3B, he is unlikely to give up much for Beltre when he gets Zim back in a couple weeks.

Yup. He was going into this year. My main money league, he was taken 4th overall. We use real DH's so that played a huge part, but his bat is lethal in any format. Probably impossible to land right now though, as saying he's on fire would be an understatement.

Probably right. I would have had 300 this week if not for Olt and Blackmon. Jones and Cuddyer have to be better.

I have come to the conclusion that I need to grab Heaney as soon as possible because I am not going to get a top five ace no matter what. What are the alternatives? I have not asked for Goldy yet, but should I offer Trout for two top 25 pitchers that aren't Kershaw, Wainwright, Felix, Darvish, Scherzer? Like recently the Strasburg one I offered for with Weaver and someone said not to do it.

Not many people want to get rid of 2 top 25 pitchers for 1 hitter and not receive a descent SP in return but depending on the league you may have some silly managers who would do it. I still think you should target a Teix/Morn type 1b though. Giving up Trout would be very difficult if you ask me.

I'm thinking of maybe sacrificing Leake. I mean by offering Greinke and Leake for Kershaw and A-Gon giving the owner a current top pitcher and a good one. While I get the top ace and a 1b need. I have not been starting Leake every week anyways because he hasnt gotten many 20+ point games. I picked up Heaney I really hope he gets called up shortly.

Maybe not during the season, but in the off-season it's possible. That's how I got Goldy last year before the season started, I traded away Price & Lee.

Okay I'm pulling this back up and I know I'm posting a lot lately(because I'm losing) but I just saw all my past games in the league and in short.........it hasnt been my pitching. Only twice did I get beat badly in pitching and both resulted in unproductive weeks for Cueto. Cueto had 0 three weeks ago and his most recent game against the phillies. I have also lost a game by 16 points, and one by a single half point. The other five losses were by a lot more.
Week 1 is the first two pitchers
Then Week 2 is the next two
I had a great week 3 and got my first win so I won't show that but the next two are week 4. I will do the recent week in the next thread. There was a week I lost where the opponent score in the 340s so that one can be chalked down to just an unlucky week.

As you can see my pitching points each week have mirrored the opponents or exceeded except for the most recent week among the pitchers. I think the problem I have is the fact that early on both Fielder and Beltre were struggling(and come to think of it its too much talent can be a bad thing, when a pitcher feels it it doesnt matter how good the hitter is, Beltre has played much better since Fielder got hurt) and then I had the problems at 1b. I did trade Miller for Gonzalez though because I didn't know Miller was going to do what he did against Toronto and the move seemed like a good one at the time. Also, Molina and shortstop was another issue as well as starting the right hitters. Molina has not shown up so far this year except a select couple of weeks. Hardy struggled so far and I dropped him once I saw Desmond was available weeks ago and I had had Gordon. Now I also dropped Gordon to make room for more pitching and he's been snatched up. So this is making me think about trading for more power such as maybe shopping Trout for Tulo and something, and maybe dealing Molina and Cueto for the top catcher and a pitcher who is manageable.
