Detroit has another big backer. Their LBing crew is going to be pretty stout.

Here is just one skinny on Kendrick. A wasted pick.

Dane Brugler on No. 212 pick CB Derion Kendrick to the Rams

A one-year starter at Georgia, Kendrick was the field cornerback in former defensive coordinator Dan Lanning’s scheme. A five-star receiver-turned-cornerback, he fizzled out at Clemson because of multiple suspensions but made the most of his second chance in Athens, leading the national champion Bulldogs in interceptions (only FBS player with at least four interceptions and zero touchdowns allowed in 2021).
Kendrick is a physical, athletic cover man with the background of a wide receiver but the toughness of a defender. While his natural traits are appealing, he is not a technically sound player and his route awareness is not on an NFL level. Overall, Kendrick’s suspect discipline (both on and off the field) will be an anchor on his draft grade, but he is a fluid athlete with the speed and ball skills to match up with NFL receivers. He has the ability to outplay his draft position.

Lake was a better pick by far.

Dane Brugler on No. 211 pick S Quentin Lake to the Rams

A four-year starter at UCLA, Lake lined up primarily as the field safety in defensive coordinator Jerry Azzinaro’s scheme. Best known as the son of All-Pro NFL safety Carnell Lake, he started to step out of that shadow the past two seasons, putting ascending play on tape and leading the Bruins in passes defended both years.
Aside from his impressive bloodlines, Lake is a high football IQ defender with the field vision and balanced athleticism to make plays vs. the run and in coverage. Though he processes well, his trigger can be delayed from the top of his pedal, and he lacks ideal fluidity and explosiveness for an NFL safety. Overall, Lake is an average-twitch athlete who will struggle in recovery situations, but he limits mental mistakes and displays the play anticipation to sense what is about to happen. His growth on special teams will be important to him making an NFL roster.

I know we're reaching the tail end of the draft and likely not many big surprises left, but the NFL Network needs to take a valium to its coverage. Good grief, enough with the over-excitement already.

The Rams traded down with Tampa Bay and they gave-up Pick 218 in the 6th Round for Picks 235 and 261 in the 7th. So now the Rams in the 7th Round have 3 Picks: Pick 235 (which gets them back to the traded Pick 238), Pick 253 (the Rams own), and Pick 261.

Boy, I don't know, Manster. Here is the list of drafted players for 2022. Ferguson was a steal and so is Harper.

My thinking is Strong could be an NFL QB, Cooper Rush really isn't.

I don't know anything about Harper but tge mocks and interweb big boards have him as an UDFA.

He has a great pro day, so I could see a team rating him higher than the internet "Pros".

I don't hate the pick just thought we could improve out BU situation.

OK, an edge (but not one I know anything about): Daniel Hardy from Montana State

Another wasted pick Shopson. Once you start reading up on this guy, you'll just shake your head.

10th nationally in TFL per game this year. 9th in the FCS in sacks per game. Smallish, sure.
