Fair enough.

I'm hoping it keeps up with yesterdays games. Would love to have something like this to watch after the Superbowl, to kill the time until the Stanely Cup playoffs start.

it woulda been better to schedule it in March or April imo, but we'll see how it goes...

There is some truth to that. The NCAAF works better for organic fanfare. It's much easier to root & have more pride for a team that you have history & personal experience with. Whether you went to college there or its simply a hometown (localized) team... And it also works as a perfect compliment to the NFL.

The XFL, even if its after the NFL season, won't ever be viewed as a compliment so long as the talent remains in the NFL. No matter how enjoyable it may appear, one thing will always win out - talent. Right now the talent just simply isn't there for the XFL. Relative to whats on the field some players will certainly stand out but its still a limited product. And with the dilution of the team markets (Texas (Dallas/Houston), NY, etc) it's hard to see the local fanfare going wild over it.

It's one thing that is so difficult for these new leagues to maintain themselves, is they lack that connection and deep rooted fan base. There is no personal connection to these start up franchises, so it's hard to have any real true emotional investment into them. Unlike college and pro teams where people are either born into the fanbase or from a very young age have been rooting for those teams and therefore have a lifetime of support for that team.

It's so important for these new leagues to get a couple years in so they can build those traditions and build those connections, have those up and down moments, have those memorable moments, etc. But it's hard for them to get a couple years in because these are the things they lack and are so important to sports.

25 second play clock? Seahawks would have like 20 delay of game penalties a game easy.

Watched 2 series of downs to realize that this league really does suck.

I'm sticking with the two year lifespan prediction for this minor league.

Can't see them having more than 12 teams.

I'll settle for a maximum of 10 or 12 teams.

Add teams in the following cities.

San Antonio(Alamodome) - look how we did with the AAF Commanders
Orlando(Camping World Stadium) - they drew well with the AAF too.
San Diego(Qualcomm Stadium)
Philadelphia(Franklin Field)
Columbus(Crew Stadium)
Detroit(Ford Field or Rynearson Staduim)
SF/Oakland(Alameda Coliseum or ATT Park) - SF has a great history with spring football especially the XFL 2001.

I think you need to go with some cities or areas who might have a real strong football fanbase (especially college), maybe like a Lincoln, NE. What else do they have to do from February to April? Cities without NFL teams that need something big and exciting to do in their cities.

I watched two games, boring the talent is sub par so they try to make up for it glitter and glam. I tried but I'll pass. tp me it was like watching a bad college game say, Slippery Rock vs Old Dominion

Need a New England team. The only northeastern team is NY, and no one in New England is going to cheer for a NY team. (Just like the other NYC teams, they are actually in NJ, because of course)
