and yet our SOS was decent in all of those years.

in the 3 years where you dont have as listed as playing ranked teams

we played the previous years runner up, the current years champion & in the tird year won the championship and simply dont give a fuck

thats not the the same as what we are arguing at all.
You keep saying that, but you've yet to include any valid reason why it's not the same.

the bouncer thing is the correct analogy because like the leaving the state of NY comment, racism is something that we both agree is not a legitimate argument to make when trying to give a reason why someone should be denied club access/having a bad OOC

Well, we don't entirely agree on that, so that's your first mistake. The objections to racism are emotional and moral objections. That's not the same thing as a logical argument. Racism is wrong because it isn't just. Justice has no bearing on the discussion of Cuse's schedule. If someone was going to object to the "doesn't leave NY" comment it would be on a logical basis, not out of some moral code. The two have absolutely nothing in common.

Also, while I don't think that Cuse rarely leaving NY is the best argument against their OOC schedule, it certainly isn't something that can be dismissed completely.

its about the same as it can get. you not seeing this just proves your stupidity

The only thing your analogy has in common with this discussion is there happen to be two people talking. That's pretty much where the similarities end.

Jesus christ, with the excuses already...

Before we get into this thing, do you believe that Syracuse's OOC schedule has been on par with the likes of Kentucky, Kansas Michigan State and Duke over the last decade?

I don't care if you are contractually obligated to play the Harlem Globetrotters 4 times a year in NYC since the 1910's. I don't care if Buffalo A&M happens to be in a dry county, and the only time of year when they can buy beer is when they play Syracuse in the Carrier Dome. I don't care if the City College of New York will go bankrupt if they don't play at Syracuse and Michio Kaku will have to get a real damn job. I. Don't. Care.

I just want to know if you think that Syracuse's schedule has been on par with the likes of Kentucky, Duke, MSU and Kansas.

You're not going to do any of this back and forth bullshit anymore. Pick a stance and stick with it. You either do or you don't think their OOC schedule is up to par. Which is it?

i am just gonna go with trolly being stupid.

the bouncer is in the wrong because he cant give a legitimate reason as to why the guy being black is significant (regardless of morals). thats where the comparison to the not leaving the state of NY is accurate.

can it get any more clear as day?

I've already given you half a dozen reasons why your analogy isn't valid. Pick any one of them. You've yet to refute a single one. I've also clearly explained why the QBR example fits much better and you've ignored that too.

For a guy that keeps complaining about me ignoring his points (as far as I know I've addressed every one of them) you sure do duck a lot of issues.

dont go there. i already pointed this out many....many times.

its not like we played 1, 11, 10, 5, 5, 4 last year ==> oh wait

but my personal favorite: this little 3 year stretch.

2011 5, 7, 6, 11, 11, 7
2010 13, 6, 10, 10, 7, 10, 7
2009 13, 12, 4, 9, 1, 12, 13, 3, 5,

22 teams ranked 13 or higher in a 3 year period. duke, kentucky, unc, iu etc. have nothing close to that

all you continue to do is ignore the fact that NOBODY is saying 'Cuse doesn't play a good schedule every year. They do, and WE HAVE CONCEDED THAT FACT!

However, they DO NOT play a tough NON CONFERENCE schedule...period, end of story.

Actually it was
2011 10, 20, 12, 19, 19
2010 7, 15, 25, 5, 7, 6, 11, 16, 15, 11
2009 13, 6, 10, 10, 7, 10, 7

Lets compare that to Michigan State
2011 1, 6, 23, 13, 18, 20, 23, 3, 15, 18, 10
2010 13, 1, 8, 18, 14, 20, 23, 14, 19, 2, 8
2009 10, 2, 25, 17, 16, 6, 9, 3

That's more top 25 teams (22 vs 30)
More top 10 teams (11 vs 13)
More top 5 teams (1 vs 6)

And MSU still managed to play a noncon schedule worth a shit those years (and pretty much every year)

But back to the topic at hand... (Cuse's noncon schedule and how it stacks up)

We've already seen the numbers for Cuse, lets look at MSU from the same 10 year stretch...

26 Ranked opponents
37 games outside of Michigan (9 in MI)
16 true road game
7 true road games against ranked opponents
and more than 35,000 actual miles traveled.

So you think Cuse is on par with that?

And just to be clear, the actual miles traveled is just for the trip there... that doesn't include return trip.

the reality that

1. leaving the state of new york does not matter

2. syracuse plays a decent but not great OOC

3. syracuse's ooc doesnt matter because they still have a very good sos each year

and thats all the reality you need to debunk the haters guide to syracuse. but then again how can i reason with you. syracuse beat #7 & #8 ooc this year and you still say our ooc is bad this year:L

Let's have a look at UNC's noncon for the same ten year period.

21 ranked opponents
40 games outside of North Carolina (15 in state)
23 true road games
7 true road games against ranked opponents

You think Syracuse's noncon schedule compares to that?

One reason why its similar does not outweigh the several reason in which it falls short.

If it falls short, it falls short. The reason why you think it works ceases to matter at that point.

and yall just ignore reality?

the reality that

1. leaving the state of new york does not matter

It doesn't matter as much as some people claim... but it does matter.

2. syracuse plays a decent but not great OOC

Decent for Scranton Community College. It's crap by top-tier program standards.

3. syracuse's ooc doesnt matter because they still have a very good sos each year

That's a different conversation entirely, and to the best of my knowledge, no one here is disagreeing with that point.

and thats all the reality you need to debunk the haters guide to syracuse. but then again how can i reason with you. syracuse beat #7 & #8 ooc this year and you still say our ooc is bad this year:L

Well, not really. Pointing out that Syracuse has a crap OOC schedule is just an observation. Haters would be pointing to things like Syracuse's nearly unrivaled ability to shit the bed in the NCAA tournament, and Jim Boeheim's track record for getting past the Sweet 16. They might also point out that the crap OOC schedule is part of the reason he's so high on the all time win's list.
