Agreeed. Oregon would have had no challengers these past few seasons in the North and it would have been boring had it been Colorado and Utah in the north.

the split divisions would have been harder to say.

The North has been much stronger since the inception of the 12 of course.

But long term it will go back and forth.

I really have no complaints other than missing old pac10 schools 2 years at a time.

Just comes with the territory of 21st century cfb I suppose.

Other topics to discuss,
what if no colorado and BYU instead?
what if the push to 16 went through brining in the likes of Oklahoma and Texas?

Name me a top coach who hasn't moved around ( saban,Meyer, B Kelly, Stoops)? They all leave jobs for more money or more power . Hell even Peterson left Boise for Washington. USC loses coaches to the NFL if they are good (Robinson- Pete). They get fired if they suck. They don't lose head coaches to other colleges. It's just the way it is. So yeah, if he does well he might leave some day. But it wont be to a rival school.
As a Head Coach Bob Stoops has only coached at Oklahoma. Going into his 15 season now I believe.

Suddenly the South is far more scary than the north.

That would be kind of tough to figure out. Geographically speaking, Colorado would move to the North Division with Texas and Oklahoma joining the South.

But does the PAC really want a South Division with:

USC
UCLA
ASU
Arizona
Texas
Oklahoma
Utah

Or, change how we determine the entire CC.

4 divisions of four. Each team plays 8 conf games. 4 division winners face off in a playoff.

Pacific Northwest

WSU
UW
Oregon
Oregon St

Californias

Stanford
Cal
USC
UCLA

Southwest

East

The question then would be, how do they do the CCG? A semi-final before the CCG? Top 2 overall records?

I was thinking more like this but with the PNW and Cals as 1 and the other 8 as the other and have a champ game from that

Stay at 12.

I already hate how we skip conference foes as it is.

Ya, I like that idea.

Say

1 seed Oregon vs 4 seed ASU

2 seed OKy vs 3 seed USC

Home field applies to higher seed.^^^

SC and Oregon win, play in Levi's stadium for title.

Works that way also.

Just thinking out of the box for the heck of it.

the old WAC did a thing where even though there were 4 quadrants of 4 teams yey still had 2 divisions. and the division champs met for title game but it only lasted 2 years

That would almost beg teams to schedule soft OOC games, not that Army and Davis are that tough for Stanford, but I would hate to lose out on the continued game with the Domers, I freaking hate those guys.
