I've owned 2 POS Toyotas and you couldn't pay me enough to drive or own another one. I've had 5 Fiats that were ALL better cars than either Toyotas. Wish I had my Fiat 128 Sport L Coupe back for my 100 mile/day commute. It got 42mpg city/48mpg hwy.

Interesting...hadn't heard of that one. A lotta peeps down here had those little Fiat convertibles back in the 80s and loved 'em. They were well built.

Agreed. Ford is making the best US cars right now and they didn't take any bailout money from the US tax payer. Ford's CEO Alan Mulally has done a great job turning that company around and making it a leader in US engineering and manufacturing.

If I was going to purchase an american car right now, Ford would be the brand I would buy.

Same here, I've never once owned anything other than an American vehicle.
I'm not knocking people who drive those cars, but I just don't.

Kia and Hyundai are getting a lot better. A few years ago Mercedes and BMW started to fire their designers and engineers as the economy turned down. Kia and Hyundai snatched them all up, and they started to make their cars more like their former owners.

Still wouldn't own either, but Hyundais of the last two or so years are pretty solid.

With the exception of the newer, Asian carmakers, every manufacturer got lucky one in awhile.

Hell, even Renault had the Alpine:

Hammer the thread title is car you will not own. I will not own anything that is not a Ford. I am a fourth generation Ford and UAW worker.

While Mulally deserves a lot of credit, Bill Ford started the turn around by leveraging the Blue Oval before he brought Mulally on.
