Ok Rambros,

We are about a month out from the draft. I do not think any free agent signings we might make between now and then will change things. I anticipate a deal down from #2 with Oakland putting us at #5 and getting us an extra 2nd and 4th rounder this year.
I see the draft falling out like this:

5 Sammy Watkins WR
13 Taylor Lewan OT
36 Gabe Jackson OG
48 Ra'Shede Hagemann DT
75 A.J. McCarron QB
103 Terrance Brooks FS
106 Ahmad Dixon SS
141 EJ Gaines CB
172 Andre Williams RB
203 Tre Boston S
218 Marcus Spruill OLB

Date stamp this as my official final mock draft prior to the draft and let's see how I do!

As dysfunctional as Oakland is, and they just proved it once again with the Saffold fiasco, I would hope we could take them for more than a 2nd and 4th. If we are resigned to trading out of the 2nd pick, I hope that the Texans decide they need a QB because there will be all kind of scrambling to get the beast from South Carolina. Of course if the Rams don't draft Clowney I'd definitely prefer to see him go to an AFC team like Oakland so at least we don't have to face him often!

Sorry, but I would still take Watkins over Clowney if we did not find a trade partner.

in the mad grab for lineman, i doubt taylor and gabe will be in those slots. but it wouldn't be bad if they were either

My guess is we are taking a QB in Rd2. The team needs some hope if Bradford goes down again or doesn't live up to a 2nd big contract. So my 'keep my job, no trades' Snead draft:

2 Greg Robinson G/T
13 Haha Clinton Dix S
36 Zach Mettenberger QB
75 Pierre Desir CB
103 Mike Davis WR

BPAs from there on out. Almost impossible to guess late round picks. I consider this a 'needs' draft. A draft based on who Id like to see on the team would be different

I would still rather Calvin Pryor over Lewis at #13. I think Safety is a bigger need and Pryor would solve it for the next 10 years. There is ALWAYS OL issues, and Lewis at 13 compared to grabbing OL on Day 2 (like you have mocked) will help just as much.

ksu - You will be allowed another "final mock draft" a week before the draft. If it's the same as this one, so be it. I'll post mine about a week before. I'm sure a thread will be done closer to the draft.

I would be very happy if our draft falls the way of your mock.

If we did trade out the pick I wouldn't want to take a OT than a OG back to back. Seems like too much money going into one area of the team.

5 Sammy Watkins WR
13 Dix
36 Zach Martin (if he falls) otherwise I'm ok with Jackson
48 A.J. McCarron / Aaron Murry
75 Best CB or OLB on the board at this point.

I don't think AJ falls down that far btw. He's stock has been rising since the combine and there's way too many teams with QB needs. If we can get him or Murry in the 3rd I'd be stoked. Otherwise your draft is pretty dope

Murray is getting a lot of looks from multiple teams. Cincy is said to be interested. They could use their 2nd rounder on him. When all is said and done, I expect both AJ and Murray to go in the 2nd.

We could very easily use a 2nd rounder on Jimmy Garappolo or McCarron and then look at OT or OG in the 3rd. Murray is still injured as is Mettenburger. Neither will be ready to give any meaningful contribution to any team before week 6. If I am drafting a QB, I am drafting someone who can "step in if Bradford falters or gets hurt", not someone who is still rehabbing an injury.

3rd round OG could be someone like Dakota Dozier or Jon Halapio and I would be very ok with that too.

Round 1 Pick 6 (ATL): Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
Round 1 Pick 13: C.J. Mosley, ILB, Alabama
Round 2 Pick 4 (OAK): Calvin Pryor, FS, Louisville
Round 2 Pick 5 (ATL): Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh
Round 2 Pick 7 (JAX): Antonio Richardson, OT, Tennessee
Round 2 Pick 12: Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois

A little over the top with 3 trade-downs, but these were all offered to me via the simulator.

Yeah I really doubt that there is 3 trade downs, I can see two (with Jacksonville (or even Oakland, but probably Jacksonville) and they'd do that to secure we can't trade with anyone else. This would be nice to have done BEFORE the draft. And then I can see us trading down from 3 to 5, 6 or 8 (most likely to Falcons at six)/

Also, I don't think Pryor will go in the second round, I wouldn't be surprised or upset if we drafted him at #13

Rams are unlikely to get any trade-downs done in advance, as everything hinges on Houston's pick. If Houston gets a deal in place before the draft with their pick, then maybe there's a chance.

I agree shopson. We will deal only after Houston picks. It will make the primetime show must see tv.

I did a mock on first-pick.com and made it realistic I think. I swapped #2 with Cleveland for #4 and #26 and a 3rd rounder(I know we will probably only get #4 and a 2nd rounder, but Cleveland 2nd is only 7 spots later.)
Here is what I got:

Round 1 Pick 4 (CLE): Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson (A)
Round 1 Pick 13: Hasean Clinton-Dix, FS, Alabama (A)
Round 1 Pick 26 (CLE): Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama (B+)
Round 2 Pick 12: Marcus Roberson, CB, Florida (B+)
Round 3 Pick 7 (CLE): Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois (A)
Round 3 Pick 11: Cyril Richardson, OG, Baylor (C)
Round 4 Pick 10: Anthony Johnson, DT, LSU (A)
Round 5 Pick 13: Lache Seastrunk, RB, Baylor (A)
Round 6 Pick 12: Kasim Edebali, OLB, Boston College (C-)
Round 7 Pick 11: Chaz Sutton, DE, South Carolina (D-)
Round 7 Pick 26: Corey Linsley, C, Ohio State (B)

It has to do with the game part of the whole site... the better you pick, the better the grade (i.e. if you choose Adrian Hubbard in the first round when he has a 4th round grade, you will get a low grade on that pick.

Oh I don't disagree, I'm just saying it'd be hard to do two trades in the first, but it'd be easier if Jacksonville did it before the draft and us be in a similar situation to trade with Atlanta

Yeah, but they'll give you an A for player quality, but you can't get an A for drafting ability unless you are constantly trading, especially up. It's too time consuming to go through the whole mock draft pick by pick trying to trade up; I just go from Rams pick to Rams pick, either picking or trading down.
