UT's best bet was probably Greg Schiano, but they let the fan uproar kill that deal. The Vols now have the least appealing head coaching vacancy in the SEC - maybe even among all the Power-5 big-time schools. They are going to have to settle for whoever is left over after all the more attractive head coaching jobs are filled - then start over again in 3-to-5 years after this guy washes out.

Word is Tennessee had another offer rejected this afternoon. Coach John Wilder of the Maynardsville Dry Cleaners Titans, a 12u Pop Warner team. turned down the offer to be the next Vols head coach stating "It's an honor to be considered but I had a solid group of 11 year olds this year who will be back next season and I feel we can contend for a championship. Besides, Uncle Ed would struggle to find somebody to replace me on the septic tank pump truck route I run."
