It was fun while it lasted, but the league has him figured out now. He's about one more bad start away from getting sent back to Tacoma

Or maybe he is just not that good, but like alot of left handed pitchers, the league needed to see him start 4-5 times before they could get a book on him.

Oh, yeah. That. LOL. I hated Rodney a year ago. I made a negative thread about him and got crucified in here. Glad to see the locals are finally getting on board even if they are a year late.

yeah if I remember correctly you and cezero exchanged a few blows in that one lol.

Looking back on Rodney's 2014 season. It is shocking to me that he was able to wiggle out of so many tight spots. This year he never escapes the bad spots he puts himself in. Interesting thing to me is how much respect he gets because of his career but if you look at this career numbers he has only had like 2 maybe 2 1/2 good seasons the rest are pretty blah.

Rodney was very effective last year closing 48/51 games, but it was only a matter of time before he imploded like this.

.
it was at the beginning of the 2014 season when Rodney had done nothing to merit any hatred.

he went on to make the all star team, deservingly, and was a huge reason the m's were in contention for a playoff spot last year.

being negative about him at that point made little sense, as does trying to say anything negative about fans who defended him back then.

this year is different, obviously, hence absolutely nobody saying anything positive about Rodney.

PV and I made peace not long after all of that, though.

Difference last year was Rodney let guys on base quite often but managed to get out of the innings without allowing runs. He flirted with disaster more than a close or should but managed to get out of the inning unscathed. Point was you can't continue to flirt with disaster and expect to get out of it as often as he did. It finally caught up to him this year
