Backdoor Sluts 9

10/10

Definitely the most disgusting, vile, filthy porno I've ever seen.

It's been a long wait for me to find something that still gets me going, I've tried everything, and this movie did the trick.

I will be renting this film again, very soon.

They say that it makes "Crotch Capers 3" look like "Naughty Nurses 2". Probably should have held the Thousand Island dressing in the midget scene.

Rope: 4/5 stars. I have yet to see a performance from James Stewart that I dislike, even if he himself did not feel he was appropriate for the film given his age. However, the real star of the film was John Dall as the smooth-talking Brandon, who is obsessed with committing the perfect crime and getting away with it. The ending was a minor let-down, but the first hour was riveting. I would definitely recommend.

This is a teenage "body-switching" movie, but it's very deep, takes a great new angle on the concept, and gets a little convoluted in the last act. It also has mega style points, as it's beautifully animated. I highly recommend it if it's at a theater near you.

Here's the thing: I've studied Japanese for 4 years. So, trying to pick up on what's being said while simultaneously reading the subtitles is a bit distracting. While doing this, you realize that some of the translations are a little loose, and the subtitles really just capture the spirit of what's being said, instead of what was actually/literally said. This is why I wouldn't mind a nicely dubbed version of this movie, like Cowboy Bebop.

The Great Debaters: 4/5 stars. Unlike, say, "Glory," this movie was not evenly enjoyable throughout. There were parts that dragged quite a bit, particularly the drama between Nate Parker's character and his girlfriend. But there were also parts that were fucking awesome. As good as Denzel Washington was, I think he was outshone by Forest Whitaker. The scene where Denzel and Whitaker go back and forth on Denzel's political beliefs was awesome, as was the part where Whitaker gets Denzel out of jail. The final debate against Harvard was fucking epic as well.

Overall, rating Denzel's turn as a director, I am most pleased that he did not fall into cliches nor play it safe. My biggest complaint with "Remember The Titans" (3/5 stars) is how cliched the movie was. They immediately face adversity, then overcome it, then a problem presents itself (the white guy getting into the car accident), and then they win the championship anyway (I think they won). Though "The Great Debaters" did have a similar ending, it was not riddled with showing the growing pains of the debate team. In avoiding this, and other cliches, Denzel Washington was able to deliver the goods- racial strife and inequality included.

I'm going to have to check out Your Name. I usually enjoy a good anime every now and then.

Of the movies you haven't seen, you have one of the more polarizing movies of the past 20 years, one legit classic, 2 very well made movies, one movie that I didn't care for and one that surprised me. Looks like an interesting mix.

I think Polarizing = Cloud Atlas
Yup. That's a movie that probably could've been an amazing anime. It has some awful makeup and takes some liberties from the book but I actually like it a lot.

I actually thoroughly enjoyed this movie. John C. Reilly is great in it.

Beauty and the Beast (2017)

A totally unnecessary movie and yet it does a good job of modernizing one of the better Disney movies to fit a more current Young Adult Fantasy Demographic. Generally brilliant casting across the board. Kevin Kline is great. I have a slight complaint with Belle (obviously french in a very french movie) being the most stereotypically British actress they could find but Watson is otherwise perfect for the part.

The main issue with the movie is that while its visually stunning, the camera seems to have a hard time focusing on the characters whenever they are singing or talking. In some ways, its like watching a video game cutscene and not a movie as you have the camera more concerned with the background than the actual emotions of the people singing. Its a bit bizarre in a musical but its only that way in about half of the scenes.

The movie is darker than the animated version but retains its hopeful spirit and is generally pro progress and pro culture which is almost shocking to see in a movie these days. I'd definitely recommend it but for an older audience than the animated movie.

Fury (2014)

Brad Pitt stars at a tank commander in this gritty movie, lauded for it's depiction of war. Shia Labeouf gives a standout performance. Jon Bernthal, Michael Pena, and Logan Lerman round out the tank crew.

I liked this movie. It had the same feel as BoB and SPR, but obviously on a much more micro scale.
