Texas(21-6) laid the wood on Tech(21-8) on friday beating them 11-1. What a relief! Texas outhit Tech 16-7 with no errors, Tech has 1. Brooks Marlow had a HR and went 4-6 with 1 RBI and 3 runs. Mark Payton(.430) went 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs. Tres Barrera went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs. Only Hunter Redman, 2-3 had more than 1 hit for Tech. Parker French(4-2) got the win.

Texas(22-7) lost the Sat. game 4-8 with Tech(22-9) . During Sunday's finale in Lubbock the Longhorns scored 3 in the top of the ninth to win 5-2.
This was the first conference series win since the 2012 season.

In a rare mid-week game between ranked teams, #11 Texas(23-7) traveled to Houston to play #14 Rice(21-10), Texas won 5-2 on 10 hits and no errors. The Owls had 7 and 2 respectively and those 2 errors cost Rice the game as they led to 3 unearned runs. It was a team effort as 8 Longhorn batters had hits. The leadoff batter Brooks Marlow went 1 for 4 with 2 walks and 3 runs. Lukas Schiraldi(5-1) got the victory.

The Heels had a terrible March and in fact lost 7 out of 8 games. They seem to have turned it around a little this week with a mid-week win over UNC-Wilmington and shut out over Boston College 7-0 yesterday.

Kind of a wierd ball park at BC. The on-deck circle is right in front of the dugout. Our Saturday starter took a practice swing to the face and got one of his teeth knocked out!!

Texas(26-7) got their 1st conference sweep in over 2 seasons by beating Baylor(15-16) 5-4, 6-3 and 4-0.
The Longhorns won Friday's game 5-4 by scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the ninth.
The UT pitchers struck out 12 in Saturday's game while walking only one and the Longhorns outhit the Bears 12-8.
Sunday's shutout finale had the Longhorn pitchers holding the Bears to only 3 hits, while getting 7.

Texas is tied for #1 in the Big12 with a 6-3 record. Next up is Rice in Austin for the midweek game.

Pitching is solid and the bats are coming alive. I'm liking it. Bats were pretty terrible to start out conference play, but I think Augie has lit a fire under their asses.

Just when Texas was a roll, a 5 game winning streak, they hosted Rice and came back to earth as the Owls(23-12) beat Texas 7-2(26-8). The Owls outhit Texas 13 to 1, 'nuff written.

Texas(27-8 7-3) beat OU(23-12 4-3) 10-8 in a wild game on Friday. Texas took a 6-0 lead in the first with 6 unearned runs off of 1 error, 3 walks and 2 doubles. OU tied it with 6 runs(4 unearned) in the bottom of the 3rd with a walk, 3 errors and 2 doubles. OU scored 2 in the 5th to take a 8-6 lead, UT tied it in the 7th with 2 runs. CJ Hinojosa(1st) got the game winner with a solo homer in the top of the 10th. Brooks Marlow was walked with the bases loaded to make it UT 10 OU 8.
Texas had 4 errors, OU 1. Hits UT 11 OU 9. Walks UT 3 OU 8.

Texas(28-8 8-3) beat OU(23-13 4-4) 7-2 and go for the road sweep today. Both teams has one error and neither led to any runs. Texas had 10 hits, OU 8. Every batter for Texas hit safely, which has got to be unusual.

Wow Washington is for real and climbing up the polls right now. Good thing is they have to travel to OSU latter this season.

Pesky Wazzou has this series tied up 1-1 going into today's 3rd and final game.

OU(23-14) went belly up for Texas on Sunday as the Longhorns won 8-1. Texas outhit the Sooners 15 to 5. Every UT batter got a hit again, so I guess it's not that unusual. Leadoff batter Brooks Marlow got a Homer and Mark Payton went 3 for 6 with a RBI and a run. Nathan Thornhill(6-0) got the complete game win.
Texas has won 14 of their last 16 games, losing to Rice and Texas Tech.

UT(30-8) beat UT-Arlington(16-21) 10-2 on Tuesday behind 8 hits with 6 for UT-A. Ben Johnson had a 2 run homer, went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI and 4 runs. Tres Barrera had a triple, went 2 for 3 with 4 RBI and 1 run. Mark Payton went 0 for 1 with 4 walks and 1 run. Zane Gurwitz went 2 for 3 with 3 runs.
