So who would you guys like to see. I know there are needs at S, WR, OL, RB are
Think Vaccaro would be a great fit obviously only way to get him though is at 16. As for 22, think any WR between Hopkins/Patterson/Allen (if medical is ok with knee)
I know there is talk from some Rams fans about Lacy. IMO that would be a mistake. Lacy isn't a first round RB, actually don't even have him in my Top 5 RB's. Anyways just my thoughts
I'd like to see the Rams go after a RB first, like Lacy. I don't know if Austin is really big enough to withstand the rigors of the NFL. I'd look for a Safety in Round 2 as I believe there are a number of Safeties available compared to some of the other positions.
You know Silas. We discussed this RB topic pretty thoroughly over on the new members thread with Sportsjunkie and he had some pretty valid points about Lacy. We don't think Fisher and Snead are going to take Lacy in the first because of a lot of reasons one of which is they could do better with a guy like LeVeon Bell in the later rounds who is bigger and faster and Lacy is a bit of reach in the first. The triple headed monster of Ganaway, Pead, and Richardson is probably going to be the MO for Fisher this year and if does go RB than perhaps he'll take a guy like LeVeon Bell who looks and runs more like Steven Jackson than Lacy. I look for either a WR/O-lineman combo, WR/Safety combo, or Safety/O-lineman combo in the first with RB (if at all) in the later rounds.
We just have to see who falls to us at 16. There is going to be some surprises. If Tavon or Warmack and Cooper last that long, I think we take 1 of them.
If they don't, I think we go safety or OLB. My money is on OLB because there are many good safeties that can come in and start in this draft.
So that leaves us with Jarvis Jones, Alec Ogletree, or Arthur Brown.
I've liked Jones since the beginning and if he's good enough for the Steelers or Ravens, then he's good enough for me.
At #22 - who knows who will be left. If we took Keenan Allen, I would not be shocked nor pissed.
Jarvis Jones and Keenan Allen I think we be a solid start.
Word is we are shopping that #22 pick. Some of us thought of this scenerio weeks ago and I like it. From the mid-1st to the mid-2nd round, the talent pool is very similar.
What do you all think we can get for this pick? Hopefully someone wants to jump up and get a QB.
a 2nd round and 4th round this year, along with a 2nd next year?
Thanks Hammer for the update. Oooo, part of me likes the update and part of me still believes we need so many players to take needs and BPA with the 22. But if can get some of those players later, then I with Sportsjunkie. Let's see what we can accumulate.
I think we trade for more picks. I would take an early 2nd and early 3rd, throw in a 5th rounder as well.
I don't know... They must like someone or a few guys in the early 2nd, which is exactly what I would do. The WR's available in the early 2nd could be: Hunter, Allen, Hopkins, ??
Guys - The latest is we trade up from 16 to 13 to get Tavon Austin. Then we trade back from #22 to recoup the extra pick we gave up to the Jets. I personally would call the Jets bluff (smokescreen) and let them actually pick him (if that indeed is their pick) then negotiate!
Call their bluff in a NEW YORK MINUTE! They need a lot more than Austin. If they draft him then make a trade right after their selection for #16 if you want but I don't know if he makes it to #13. Otherwise stay put, get the OG, safety, OLB, or BPA. #22 is a different matter, trade down for picks in the second isn't a bad idea, if it is multiple picks high enough in the draft. Otherwise take #16,#22, #46, they will all start for us next season, don't reach.
