I do not like trading up to get this guy. FO is freaking out because we have 3 WR's on the roster.

Big mistake. Is he even going to be on the field every down?

Trade up to get Sammy Wadkins or Marques Lee next year? Sure.

Bad way to start the draft. He's no Julio Jones.

Hey Chy and Red Chaos. Good to meet you guys. Yea, we ex-SeeBS folks really know how to light the board up with chat about the Rams.

Sportsjunkie, you are right again. Fisher and Snead have this slight tendency to reach on people and Austin is not worth the trade with the Jets. I think its Fisher overreacting from last year when the Jags covertly crepted-up and took Julio Jones around us.

I say if Hopkins is everything they think, let the draft come to them, select for other needs at 16 and 22 and select Hopkins in the 2nd. We are going to lose something with that trade with the Jets and it could come back to hurt us later. Somebody has a stiffy for Austin's speed (certainly not his size) and they are not thinking clearly. I like your scenario with going after Wadkins next year. Hell, we all can wait another year anyways.

Top of the draft might be something like

1. KC - Eric Fisher
2. Jax - Dion Jordan
3. Oakland trading down with someone for Luke Joeckel
4. Philly - Star
5. Det - Ziggy
6. Browns - Mingo
7. Zona - Lane Johnson

Maybe Warmack or Cooper falls...that would be nice

I thought I would list the draft order since some of you are suggesting there could be a trade down. Who do you see as a likely partner...

I would like to pick up a draft pick high in the second round or late in the first round so we can go after that DeAndre Hopkins should we trade No. 22 away, maybe down to 26 with Green Bay. I thought maybe we could get something for Roger Saffold plus a later round pick. What do you guys think?

The worst kept secret right now is that the Bills like Nassib and Barkley. I think that would be an ideal trade partner at 22.

Now the rumors seem to be pointing to the Browns taking Geno Smith and the Bills taking Nassib in the top 10. Trading down might be hard.

Hopkins won't be there at #46 overall. There will be a run of WR's from the late 1st to early 2nd. So if they did trade the 16th pick to Buffalo for 8th pick it would have to include our #46 pick and there is no way.

He's no Julio. He's 5'9 with speed, but it's not DeSean Jackson speed. Hell, that little guy went in the 3rd round.

Hopefully this is all BS and we keep the 16th pick and trade down with the #22 pick. I think Fisher will keep his composure and wants to stockpile picks.

We need more than one WR and at 5'9?? C'mon man!! :wtf2:

Isn't the good Steve Smith like 5'9"? I think its irrelevant, though. We are going to have our TE Cook play in the slot a lot of the times. I think if Austin and Hopkins are on the board at 16, we take/reach on Hopkins

Think about it like this. DeAndre Hopkins, Robert Woods, Justin Hunter, Keenan Allen, Terrance Williams, Quinton Patton, Markus Wheaton ALL predicted to go from late 1st to mid-to-late 2nd.

ALL are very simliar in talent. DeAndre is 6'1 214, runs a 4.5 40. Well Hunter and Allen did too! Allen is faster, but just injured currently. He'll bounce back. And Allen may just be there at #46 waiting for us! Yes the #1 overall rated WR all year in NCAA football has now dropped to the 2nd round. He's not crippled!

Point is why reach for a player, when there are 4 clones of that player sitting there in the 2nd as well?

Would you rather have Cooper, Jones, or Ogletree and the #22 pick, with Keenan Allen at #46? Or reach to get Hopkins? Sure that's if Allen is there...

I know who Id rather have but we definitely reached on Quick last year. I'm trying to keep my expectations low but I really do think this draft matches our needs very well.

Clayton - I agree. This draft matches up very well for our spot in the draft and our needs!

Junkie - I'm putting in a call to Rams Park right now!!!

Clayton my man I here you! But no reason to make up for last year now. I didn't want Quick either -ask most of these guys on here. I wanted Alshon Jeffrey and he was there at #45 and it was our pick, which we traded to Chicago and they took him. You talk about pissed! And then I had to watch that Ram offense again last year.

Don't get me worked up about last year. :gaah:

Let the chips fall and we will get a good WR or 2.

Da'Rick Rogers is another guy I like and should be there around the early 3rd.

I'm a really big fan of Dobson and Patton and would be fine with either in Rd 2. Not too high on Hunter

First, I don't think Austin is a reach at #16 but I do think Hopkins is. If the Jets take him listen but don't overpay for any player in this draft. Just my opinion. Another fact that if Austin and Cooper or Warmack are at #16, I take Cooper, then look Hopkins after we trade down with #22 for a 2nd and 3rd or 4th. We need to fill holes with guys that will start next season. So if we take the OG look safety at 22 and judge from there. All being said, Cooper gone, Warmack gone, OTs gone, Austin there, take him.

My point exactly my man! Even if we got Dobson and Ace Sanders or Denard Robinson we would still have playmakers to go with our current WR's.

Givens is going to be our burner and I think a special player in the NFL. Pettis is a possession WR with great hands, but should get more time and get better. Quick has no where to go but up. Our TE's could be nasty and our O-line has improved.

If we get 2 more solid rookie WR's, then that is young, fresh crop of talent at our disposal.
