Did you start the hike during the CFB season last year? UM's bad offense was one of only 9 teams to average 40 ppg.

Either admit you shifting your stance, or admit your a dumbass, your choice.

Michigan scored 63 in week one, two pick sixes. That equals 49.
Michigan scored 51 in week two, all offense. That totals to 100.
Michigan scored 45 in week three, one block punt returned and one punt returned. 31 points. Totals 131.
Michigan scored 49 in week four. All offensive. Totals 180 points.
Michigan scored 14 in week five. All offensive. Totals 194 points.
Michigan scored 78 in week six. All offensive. Totals 272.
Michigan scored 41 in week eight. All offensive. Totals 313.
Michigan scored 32 in week nine. Two points on a two point conversion the other way. 30 points. Totals 343.
Michigan scored 59 in week ten. All offensive. Totals 402.
Michigan scored 13 in week eleven. All offensive. Total 415.
Michigan scored 20 in week twelve. All offensive. Totals 435.
Michigan scored 27 in week thirteen. All offensive. Totals 462.
Michigan scored 32 in the bowl game. Defensive two point conversion and one pick six (failed extra point). 24 offensive points. Totals 486 points.

486 offensive points scored/13 games played = 37.4 points per game.

FG isn't points by the offense, it is special teams. Same with extra points.

:pound: If you are going to attempt to call someone a dumbass -- at least use proper English. You look foolish trying to call someone out, while not knowing when to use your and you're.

And I haven't shifted anything -- the reason I keep asking for you to provide CFB PPG for 2016, because they will all say Michigan averaged 40.3 ppg. I'm still waiting to see it.

And I will ask you the same thing I did Eric and Samurai. Feel free to post a single CFB PPG list that says UM averaged less than 40 a game. I'm sure with as easily as you have broke it down, there must be dozens of them. :suds:

Let me know when you figure out why you won't find it.

You haven't shown one where it shows the OFFENSE scores 40 points per game either. You do know there is a difference between OFFENSE and DEFENSE, right? I know you just started following football again a couple years ago.

Yep you caught me. Slight mishap, it was also late too, but whatevs.

And yes, you've shifted your stance, you initially said offense, now it's team. The Michigan offense didn't average 40.3 ppg. Unless you don't know the difference between an offensive and defensive/special teams touchdown, which by looks of it, looks to be the case.

Matthew Stafford had 260 yards on Monday. 115 of it was from the running backs rushing the ball? Doesn't matter, he gets credit for those too.

If Michigan's offense averaged over 40 ppg, did the defense not score?

Absolutely the defense scored, but once a turnover is forced, the defense turns into the offense and they are trying to score. Anyone who has played football has had their coaches say, once you force a turnover, you become the offense and try to put it in the end zone.

It is why I've said repeatedly you wouldn't find a single link with them less than 40 ppg (unless they calculate total points wrong -- thanks B1G). It is why they say a team is averaging X amount per game, and not the offense averages X, special teams averages X and the defense averages X.

So what you are saying is you were lying for the past year when you said Michigan only gave up 3 points in regulation against Ohio state, because that touchdown was scored against Michigan's defense.

Props on finding a site that has them listed (incorrectly) at less than 40 PPG, but it only takes a second to scroll down and see they listed total points wrong for UM, as they have the Quarter by Quarter output.

Still props for finding that though.

What all goes into "offensive points"?

I see it as the offense scoring a TD, PAT, 2 pt conversion, 3 pt field goal.

Does not include pick 6, fumble recovery in endzone, safety, KR/PR for TD. Blocked fg for TD, defense returning PAT/2 point conversion for 2 points.

So what you are saying is you were lying for the past year when you said Michigan only gave up 3 points in regulation against Ohio state, because that touchdown was scored against Michigan's defense.

What is so difficult to understand? All points scored against a team counts against the defense, whether it is a pick 6, special teams TD, etc.

When you look at Michigan's defensive PPG -- it doesn't have an asterisk that says, this is the actual PPG and this is the PPG allowed by offensive mistakes. Just like with the offensive PPG, where the defense becomes the offense on a turnover. The SAME happens when the offense turns the balls over, they become the defense.

If you wanted to be literal and only count points by certain factions of a team, the offense would only count TD's scored and NOT extra points, with the exception of 2 points conversions. The special teams would include extra points and field goals. You'd have a category return TD's, both punt and kickoff, then you'd have a separate category for defensive touchdowns.

Instead, what you have is a consolidated PPG, which is why I said you couldn't provide a link saying otherwise (and you have not), because it is negligible and it'd be impossible to come up with something fair. Total yards and defensive efficiency is the closest you will get.

That being said -- UM averaged 40.3 PPG last year, which 'bad offenses' don't do.
