Or that could also mean our rotations over the years have been mediocre looking at an entire rotation from 1-5.
I don't think this rotation puts up the numbers close to that of the 1976 rotation and especially not the 1977 rotation.
Same goes for the 1978 rotation.
You realize back in 1976 only 1 team had a team ERA over 4. League ERA last year averaged 4.49. I think pitching in general was dominant back then. But 1977 was a decent rotation. But this is a different time and ERA's like that will not be repeated.
That why I think Sandler was wrong in what he said. It might be better than anything he has witnessed.
That may be a better way of putting it.
