Ted Burgmeier dies at age 57

Any of you old enough to remember the 1977 green jersey game against USC will remember Ted Burgmeier as one of the stars of the game. Way too young to die. My prayers go out to his family and all of those who knew and loved him.

That was one helluva triumphant game! Didnt they do the Trojan Horse that game, also?

Ted was a cornerback, who also played flanker and held for fg's and extra points. In the green jersey game he ran a fake field goal for a 20 yard gain on a drive that ended with a td. He also turned a bad snap on an extra point into a 2 point conversion with a great run and pass into the corner of the end zone. He also had a great interception and return of a sure td pass that basically sealed the game for ND. He was a great player for ND that isn't remembered primarily because he didn't have much of a career in the nfl. There are you tube videos that show the highlights of that game. If you get a chance, you should look at them.
