It is still sinking in that Astros are finally back in a LCS. And if Houston made it this far, I was sure they'd be facing Cleveland. But to be facing the Yankees for a trip to the World Series? Well it is one of those "shit just got real" moments.

I'm actually still getting used to the Astros being in the AL. It didn't mean as much when they beat the Yankees 2 years ago in the Wild Card game because a play in game just doesn't compare to a 7-game series.

Houston hasn't won a playoff series since 2005, when they finally won the NL Pennant. And before that they were just like the Nationals in playoff futility from the late nineties to then.

This has taken me all the way back to 1986 when that other New York team stood between them and a World Series. I'm hoping this series is just as epic but with different results. If the Astros win they will have won a pennant in the AL and NL. I don't know how many other teams can claim that.

I'll close with saying good luck, Yankees fans. May the best team win.

I wish you well, I think most of the country will be rooting for Houston (or against the Yankees). But that may not work out for you. Every single team I was rooting for going back to the wild card round lost

I feel badly for the DC fans. The Nats are the Caps with bats.

I've already got plenty of adversity to deal with. Don't think you rooting for Houston is anywhere near as bad as @Used 2 B Hu having them as one of his favorite teams.

The Nats futility is baffling. The Astros had that same kind of stretch in the years around 2000.

Another irony is we have Carlos Beltran now past his prime. If he would have stayed in Houston, they might have won it all back then. Instead he had to bolt for other New York team. :gaah:

Well the Brewers are the only other team to have switched leagues. They went to the WS in the AL but have yet to do so in the NL. They did go to the LCS in the NL, however, back in 2011.

I said on another thread.

I'm rooting for the Texas team but....

my childhood nostalgia would not mind seeing a Yankees-Dodgers World Series.

Bought an Astros hat this afternoon.

I'm on the bandwagon, officially.

(Pretty much just cuz of JV, but whatever.)

I'll need a pic of you in this before I can officially confirm your Astro fandom.

I'd wear that if I could find one.

Is my Tigers #35 jersey enough for now? Lol

You guys are just going to have to bear with me. I'm not used to people wanting to jump on the Astros' bandwagon.
