I've seen QB's play with broken ribs and win. Excuses are fine, but they are just that, excuses. He and his team got outplayed and his Heisman numbers and aspirations still need to be enhanced against a good team, so far he has yet to show he can do that on the big stage against equal or better talent.

sorry; just can't buy that. Mariota is the most complete quarterback in CFB. Even with the loss....not his fault when sitting on the bench watching the defense struggling with a good running team.

He looked great against Alabama and while I hate to admit it I'm not sure there was a better defense in the country last year.

EJ Manuel broke his fibula in the Bowl Game against ND and WON the game. Using an injury as an excuse is just not cool. Especially before the game you stated it was NO BIG DEAL!

eh, they had 0 points into the 4th quarter. the blame on that has to fall at least a little bit on the offense.

Mariota is a good QB, but when faced with a defense that can pressure him, he is obviously vulnerable. IMO, that's where Manziel has an advantage.

Actually it is, couldn't complete a pass worth his life. He also doesn't look like he couldn't handle the pressure. It didn't help Oregon's rushing offense got shut down, but that is when he needs to step up...he didn't. Plain and simple.
