I'm hoping for a 63-0 score with Manning throwing 9 TDs all over big mouth Sherman. Probably a more realistic score will be:
Denver 26
Seattle 17
Denver 26
Seattle 17
Defense wins championships. The weather will be a factor in Denver's passing attack and Seattle has the better run game.
'Hawks- 20
Donkeys- 17
Just curious but what do the older posters think of Peyton in terms of 'Greatest of All Time' QBs? Imo, he wins this Super Bowl against one of the best pass defenses Ive ever seen and he closes the door on the conversation but there are some older guys (Pre Montana) that I haven't seen play. What do you guys think of Peyton's legacy?
Since teams win championships, not QBs, I put Marino at the top. He's the best passer I have ever seen, and set the 5000 yard mark back before all the more recent rule changes have made the league pass-happy. He never had a running game, and not much of a defense either, yet he led that team to the super bowl in his rookie year.
If you put Montana on the Dolphins, does he win with that team? Put Marino on the Niners however, and I think Dan gets rings.
I'm assuming you're alluding to Bradshaw Ozark. He does indeed have 4 rings, but I don't think he was the biggest reason Pittsburgh won those SBs. The general consensus is that the Steelers had the greatest defense over a 6 year span (74-79) in NFL history, and that was the primary reason they were so dominant. Taking nothing away from Bradshaw, he was one of the best in his time. But he was also rather erratic, throwing almost as many INTs as TDs.
