After watching the first game and the first period, I agree. I made that same comment that they finally started playing like it was a playoff game after the first period (granted I made it when they tied it) but the start of the second was when you could see it.

Rest of the series should be fun. Isles looked fast in game 1 while caps looked slow. In game 2, Caps seriously wore down the Isles and you could see it as the game wore on.

The Caps had 34 shots on net... and that is with the Isles blocking 27 shots. Isles only managed 18 with the Caps blocking 11. You generate that kind of shot production, you're going to win a lot of hockey games.

Isles want to play physical early. Good - that's our game.

I was also wondering why Visnovsky was laying on the ice after barely getting touched. He should have been given a diving call there.

He looked shook up. Think the hit wasn't the problem, just that he wasn't ready for it at all and didn't brace himself.

I watched it all. Nothing happened. He braced himself for the fall, which wasn't very far. He was fine when he got up and didn't want to leave the ice.

Bitch boy/faker was just fine on that shot.

Visnovsky is made out of tissue paper - I wouldn't be surprised to see him miss the rest of the series as a cumulative result of the hit and subsequent fall to the ice.
