They're being very cagey about it. When asked by folks about rumors of torn ACL they flatly deny. They don't provide same definitive responses about the MCL. Supposedly happened this week in practice so not sure why you think rumor was from UCLA

oops I posted my findings in the wrong thread. I know what you're talking about Yeo. Hold up let me bring my post over to this thread. Yes, they are being shady about it, but I heard he tore his MCL after the UCLA game or during it whatever....so I think the rumor has been going on for awhile, probably died and woke up again.

I found these "Rumors" on twitter and read the replies from credible sources; Rob Mosely and Andrew Greif. Although it bugs me that neither give a direct answer to the question, such as Rob when someone asked, "I heard Mariota tire his MCL." Rob reply was, "Mariota did not tire his MCL." c'mon Rob....

Anyways, look at the credibility of the rumor....Mariota was spotted going full speed at all week in practice, but tore is MCL yesterday........ok..im sure Mariota wasn't even having full speed drills yesterday.

One guy, I believe it was Andrew Greif did say that mariota was going full speed in practice this week.....Then the guy who asked him the question said, "All week? Heard it happened today." (meaning yesterday)

well if that is the case, think about it. Do you honestly think Ducks would eb practicing full speed the day before a game to where Mariota could even have a chance to get injured??

Although, Yeo, if by some odd case there is ANY truth to this, Mariota will still likely play on a MCL injury....However, how eerily similar would that be to Dennis Dixon injury in 07? Didn't he hurt his knee against ASU, played on it a few weeks, came into the Arizona game on a THURSDAY night on the road and went down....Could have been avoided had he not played and instead rested.

Anyways, pretty sure this is all rumors and nothing legit, but I would be higly disappointed if this injury has been around for awhile and the coaches have still been letting him play.
