Since nobody knows who will keep their jobs when a new manager is hired, Stairs makes a move.
I did not rate him as the best or worst, but somewhere in the middle. Therefore there is room for
improvement.

That might be a better fit since the Nats have mostly mature players. Somehow, I don't see Girardi giggling and getting drunk as he watches Velasquez, Eickhoff, and Pivetta struggled to get their curve balls near the plate. Maybe Wathen really is the best guy for this challenge.

Just heard that the Nats hired Dave Martinez to be the manager. Girardi is still out there.

Indeed Northeast. One article I saw earlier stated that Girardi brings a hefty price tag. We have payed lesser players and coaches way more. Surely those dunderheads in the FO and ownership can come up with the cash to hire him outright.

I don't either Northeast. As we have seen on numerous occasions, the decision-making process with these Phillies concerning players and coaches often has no logic to it whatsoever!
