I'm guessing there are some people here that think the Cowboys and Redskins each turn 2 billion in profit every year? That is what they are valued at, so it must be a one year take?

Apples and oranges. NFL teams have huge literal assets that a sports forum doesn't have.

...and huge expenditures and capital investments that a sports forum doesn't have.

As if a livery service and sports forum isn't apples and oranges.

Yes I realize that. But you said:
A business is basically worth one year's profits.

and used that as reason why this was a bad deal.

and :L at saying that a sports forum is apples and oranges to the NFL, yet a yard business is apparently right on par.

A business is basically worth one year's profits. So anything over $1200 for this is stealing. Improving the profits will require additional investment over time, with all the risk of investment involved.

Go fuck yourself. You're out of line now.

I'm sorry, I'm out of line? What the fuck is that? "out of line"? What is this, elementary school!

Someone made a comment, I replied, they made another and we went back and forth. If someone says something I don't agree with I'm perfectly in line to reply back. If that person then comes back and says that I'm throwing out false equivalencies while doing the exact same himself, I'm also going to point that out.

And you call that "out of line"? I don't need to tell you what you can go do, I'm sure it is pretty obvious.

First off, don't listen to anything Kramer says. That's just par for the course in the Bengal board.

Secondly, for everyone else, the value of a company (or any recurring revenue stream - which is what you should consider SportsHoopla in this case) is not determined by a single year of income, regardless of if it is revenue being earned from a web site, interest, or an NFL football team. Anyone with a finance/investing background, any knowledge of M&A or valuation, or even a business owner will say the same.

You don't have a clue about anything

You used the term "yard biz" and that pisses me off. I told you to fuck off. Maybe I was out of line...probably not. You're butt hurt for some reason or another. I'm assuming it's because a lot of people are saying paying a ridiculous amount of money for this place was fucking retarded. If you're the one who bought it....you got ripped. Well done, good luck, and fuck off.

I'm not butthurt about anything. i'm talking on a message board, as these things are meant to be used. Someone said something that I don't agree with. Then you jumped in because I used a term that pisses you off?

remind me again who the butthurt one is, Capt Lawnboy.

is that supposed to be a put down? Seems to me like you are black sheep around here, so not really sure what you are trying to do.

Let's slow down with the personal attacks or I'll be forced to kick all of your assess in front of the Great Steak and Fries company (or whatever shitty cheesesteak place resides in the Dayton Mall food court).

If you bought the SportsHoopla, I certainly wish you success with your investment. Nevertheless, I think you overpaid. It's an opinion of which I cannot prove. Peace.
