If the Oilers decide to put Souray on re-entry waivers, I think somebody will step up and nab Sheldon. Of course, I think they would have to wait until October to do so (no re-entry waiver process during the off-season if memory serves).

Souray's cap hit of $5.4M is ridiculous, but if he can be had for $2.7M, I wouldn't mind the Sharks taking a shot on him.

I wonder if Toronto would claim him on re-entry waivers. They would have the 1st chance.

If Souray is put on re-entry waivers the Isles would probably put in a claim. With all the top UFA defenseman turning down more money from the Islanders they'd get a guy who wouldn't have a choice in the matter. Unless of course he were to decide to retire.
