Really not that upset about him deciding to change his mind. Was Maclin leaving really the lynch pin? Gore with us seemed odd from the start. Especially with Chip finally rebuilding the team in his mold. The Colts situation should be a lot better for him as far as a championship contender goes. For all we know we might have Mark Sanchez starting most of our games with a rookie QB on the bench. That's obviously not a desirable situation for a aging vet looking to win.

Hmm... an upcoming playoff contending team in INDY where you have a solid quarterback.. OR... PHI who has no idea who their quarterback is, and just recently released Djax, Maclin, McCoy.. and has no receivers to speak of so they are going to run the RB into the ground. Hmmm

They might come here for money, but I'm not sure Chip is doing much to attract quality veterans to the organization.


I think we need to make a run at CB Terrance Mitchell (CHI) instead. I think he's more of a Chip guy.

I think this is a blessing in disguise. This contract was a mistake. Chip likes Gore's character and running style, and I do too, but he is an old RB.

Had mixed feelings about Gore, anyway. His straight-ahead style would have been a good fit for Kelly's scheme, but he's old for a running back and has taken a beating, so there's no telling how long he'd last. How about LaGarrette Blount? He fits one of Kelly's preferred requirements (former Oregon Duck), he's a pothead, a hothead, and he can hit the hole with power. The hated Pats signed him last season to a 2-year contract, but I'm betting he could be acquired for a low draft pick. He's got to be a more attractive RB than Pierre Thomas or Reggie Bush, for God's sake!
