A simple way to combat this problem is to cease listening to the radio. Radio stations will continue to constantly play the same popular songs far beyond our deaths.

I'm lucky enough to have my own office, so I hook an external drive with 100 GB of music to my computer and use Windows Media Player to play whatever I feel like listening to while I work. I also have a stereo in my truck that plays music directly from a flash drive, so I do the same while I drive.
