Sgt Brutus
Goober
Kid had a good run, but looks like his job has been taken
In what capacity?I'd like to see him remain as an important part of the offense
Water boy. He is fast and could get that shit out to the huddle in record time. Never underestimate good hydration. In what capacity?
Bama always has the highest quality h2oWater boy. He is fast and could get that shit out to the huddle in record time. Never underestimate good hydration.
Blinn College for a season, then Auburn to beat the team that shunned him
I happen to think those 2 will battle it out. Both look to be better runners, than QBs at this point. I thought the 2 look similar. I happen to think a lot of it was some adjustments and a little excitement for fresh blood. At a minimum Hurts should let the spring play out, if he doesn't, he should call Texas
I don't ever see him being able to pass out of the pocket or read defenses. Hurts is a great athlete playing QB. The freshman looks like he has an arm and vision.I happen to think those 2 will battle it out. Both look to be better runners, than QBs at this point. I thought the 2 look similar. Why do you keep saying stupid shit about Tua?
I have seen Hurts make clutch plays in a NC game, he had Watson make 1 more drive. He was what 14 for 26 or something like that with an int and something like 6.5 yards an attempt. Those aren't crazy numbers. He was solid on a Big stage. I hate when people try to annoit a kid after 1 game. This is the same stuff people said about Hurts last year after the NC game. What's are people saying if Riley doesn't make that catch intended for another WR to the the game?
No, it's not even close to being the same as Jalen last year. In fact, everyone was blaming the offense for the Clemson loss because we blew a lead going into the 4th quarter due to the fact we couldn't convert on 3rd down which lead to the defense being out there for 99 plays while our offense only played 66 in the game. And of course the end result is they got tired and Clemson won the game.
We were excited because he was a true freshman and we had hoped his passing game would progress to compliment what he does with his legs. Most of that is with his vision, but it was obvious as the year went on that it was not happening and Alabama fans have been melting for months about changing QB's(which I have hated listening too).
At no point has Jalen ever looked like Tua. And the difference between them last night was extreme. Did you even realize we went from being a run team to being a passing team? He sat in the pocket where Jalen would leave it, stepped up and made throws.
And people are pretty much saying the same thing regardless of the outcome. Pretty much all Alabama fans expected him to beat out Jalen this spring even if we had won with Jalen last night.
He had a great game for a freshmen. That is different than having a great game. Did he show promise? Certainly. Will he become great? I have no idea. CFB is littered with young kids that came in and showed promise. Fans love to extrapolate though. They see that game and look forward to the great steps he will take forward next year. More times than not, those expectations turn out to be grossly over-estimated. OSU fan started this. Same fan base that thought JT Barrett would be in the hall of fame after his 1st year. Same fan base that thought Caradale was going to win 2 NC. So Tua may make the steps to be a great QB or he may not. All I know is it is generally smart to bet against the young QB destined for greatness. Good luck to him. Hopefully, fans don't fill his head up in the offseason
