Worst news of the offseason. We saw how the team struggled to start the season without Hurdle. This is 10X worse. I can't imagine the Cubs go with Maddux. They probably want someone more high profile or with some prior managing experience.

so far he has talks scheduled with the Cards and the Cubs. i think Francona gets the Cubs job and from listening to the Cards reports it sounds like they're leaning toward Sandberg
