Hard to say, but Bear is still; number one in the hearts of many long time fans, the newer fans who didnt see the Bear led teams only know Saban for his great teams. Bear is still the bar that all coaches at Alabama shoot for, but Saban went along ways towards changing that. It is a good debate, but in this mans opinion, I still have Bear in my heart as the number one coach and Saban is a very close second.

I FIFY but I agree, the reality is its a bit harder today, but Bear had a knack for coaching too, he knew how to motivate players and get them conditioned. His teams were usually very tough conditioning wise.
