On what planet was Washington "inferior"? Washington scored more points, allowed far fewer points and were ranked 5th in S&P+ (Wazzu was 33rd). They were also 18 spots ahead of Wazzu per Sagarin. They were a much better team all season and it showed when they played.

Not sure I get the Leach criticism though. They're 26-12 over the last three years and they're not exactly a historically good program either (464-515-38). They had eight consecutive seasons without a bowl prior to him taking over at Wazzu. He may not have gotten them on the level of the 2001-03 squads, but that's a pretty big improvement if you ask me.
