At least we haven't had to wait until past the third inning to realize the game was completely over.

nobody was injured

my source for that is Lloyd McClendon, btw. He said it verbatim in his post-game yesterday.

My real silver lining?

Having ditched our DirecTV last year in favor of cheaper stuff (digital antenna, Amazon Prime). That way, there's one less source for watching the frustration.

Yep, saving money and a bit of the stress. Course, there's still finding out the scores online...

Silver linings:

Ketel Marte looks really good so far, but so have many Mariners prospects in their first few months at the major league level.

Cano now has his BA up to .278 from a paltry .236 on June 16. He is hitting .321/.368/.543 with 12 HRs and 39 RBIs in the 58 games since then.

Nelson Cruz is arguably having the best season at the plate in the major leagues right now. Leading the majors in HRs by a pretty wide margin and currently second in the AL in BA at .320. At his current pace, Cruz would finish the year with 50 HRs. Cruz is a legitimate AL MVP candidate at this point.

Yesterday's game was the 135th game of the season. The Mariner's season record stands at 64-71, 7 games below .500.

The first time the Mariners fell 7 games below .500 this season was after game 55. You know what that means, don't you?

IT MEANS WE'VE BEEN PLAYING .500 BALL FOR THE PAST 80 GAMES!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Updated. The Mariners were 3-7 after the fist 10 games of the season. They have gone 70-70 in their last 140 games. Playing .500 ball for the last five months, baby!
