Just watched both replays of the blocks. He landed on his feet in both, and NOT on players. The rule is to keep guys from jumping on the backs of lineman, defensive or offensive to get higher in the air.

It says it's legal if he's lined up within a yard of LOS. I don't remember him getting a running start so it was probably within the rule framework. Also, I think he landed on his feet, not on players like the rule states. Or maybe he's just so cool he gets his own set of rules.

Kam only did it in that playoff game, and once more in a regular season game if I recall correctly.
Watching the video he did get running starts.

Watching the replays 72 of Seattle holds down the Carolina G Kam jumps over. Something I'd expect Belechick to come up with.

Good thing holding isnt an unsportsmanlike conduct flag.

He didnt land on a player.

And I NEVER said he did. I'm saying he got 4 yard running starts the rule says the player must be lined up at the LOS, and a Seattle player held down the guard so he couldn't raise us like he taught. A flag wasn't thrown on Kam but one should have been thrown on 72 of Seattle. Seattle cheated and got away with it.

The running start last of the rule doesnt matter because he didnt land on a lineman. The landing on the lineman is the penalty, unless youre 1 yard within the los.

If you want to talk about a hold as cheating, fine. Lame, but fine i guess.

This would be a fun game to do with every play ever run.
Yes I will admit you can call holding on a vast majority of plays, but that holding was specifically designed to help Kam jump over the guard. Don't be butt hurt because I'm questioning the legitimacy of the play, except it as an badge of honor your team pulled it off, I wish my team did.

Oh STFU, I'm just pointing out Kam and the Seahwaks got away with an illegal play.
Young punk, don't tell anyone to STFU, unless you can back up your words. If you were to dissect every play of a 60 minute NFL football game you would see quite a few illegal plays, that were not call by the officials. Why are you so strung up on one play of a football game? Apparently Kam's play was llegal, as the officials didn't flag the play. Are you saying that you are smarter than the officals?

First jump, Panthers got flagged for moving to soon. Second jump Kam got flagged for running into the kicker. So those leaps accomplished nothing, so what's the big deal here?

So why are the unsportsmanlike foul penalties up by 35 this past season compared to the previous 10 years?

The players are to blame for this rule change. It forced Goodell's hands.

Has been trending up... 20 more in 2015 from 2014... So up, but they are a small part of the game as a whole. I think the NFL just wants to ensure it stays a small part of the game which makes sense, its a big penalty for worthless acts.

As for Kam, yeah definitely doesn't fit the bill on this thread. Just looking at 2015, only pulled up 4th down plays, but not one was on a FG...

I wouldn't give Goodell that much credit... It could also be the refs calling things tighter ....

They already have input through the NFLPA.

I"m not expert on how everything works but from what I've read......

The NFL commissioner selects the members of the Competition Committee, which currently consists of two owners, two club presidents, two general managers and three head coaches: At the annual meeting, the Competition Committee presents a report of its findings to the 32 owners, who vote on any proposed new rules or rules changes. To be adopted, a new rule or a revision must have the support of 75 percent of the owners (24 yes votes out of 32 clubs).

Wow ... That seems a little controlling doesn't it ? Goodell will probably be the guy whispering through the head sets..... OFF WITH HIS HEAD, but fine him first!
I believe it was supposed to be Blandino?
This shouldn't slow the game down:doh:
Blandino to officials "hey guys keep discussing the call", "I'm on the other line with Roger".
Yeah Roger it's that team again you know the one. You don't care about what the officials are discussing? Just make sure the call goes against "that" team.
Ok guys after intensive review our opinion is the call goes against "that" team.
