Or as good as Hakeem.jordan worship aside, i'm sure shaq did work hard. all world class athletes do.
shaq was not as athletic as chamberlain, or skilled as jabbar.
Or as good as Hakeem.
No non ball handler has a chance at GOAT. Or Top 5.
Shaq was a giant. That's it. Couldn't shoot, couldn't dribble.
Shaq fans I'm sure won't agree.
Stilt put some grip on that one.the zebs let him get away with a lot of physical play too.
chamberlain looks quite a bit stronger.

389 stone. LolHe was over 7 foot and 389 stone...or sumfin like that!
He couldn't sink a free throw to save his life. But he was big....and that was his job....to be big inside the paint.....and he was good at his job!
He couldn't jump as high as he thought he could either....
Or as good as Hakeem.

He was good in that Bruce Lee movie.Ehm... Kareem?
He was good in that Bruce Lee movie.
And when he played with the fourth best player ever in Milwaukee.
In my reality he isn't.So Kareem in your opinion isn't a top 5 player?
In my reality he isn't.
Is your top 30 all lakers?
Wilt is better than Lew, imo.Yeah with Smush and Kwame fighting it out for 1st place
that might be good tabloid material, but if you don't work hard, at that level, you'll be out of league. everybody works hard at that level. it's not high school. shaq became injury prone and had some weight problems, but that came later in his career when he was past his prime.
Stilt put some grip on that one.
Skinny Shaq was a helluvan athlete. That's it.
shaq was @30 when he opted to have toe surgery which is near the end of a pro basketball players prime. surgery is always a last resort. i'm sure giving it time heal, in the off season, was a consideration. when shaq was younger, he never had weight problems. as he got older, he was packing a little more weight than he should have. it's not that unusual for older players to gain weight. it doen't mean he laid on the couch all off season, ate chips, and never worked out. it just means his metabolism had changed, with no correction in diet for it.lol
Nothing tabloid about it. His refusal to stay in shape in the off-season is what led to his injury issues, his "weight problems" and shortened his prime years.
Shaq himself has admitted this. Said he should have listened to Kobe when Kobe was on him about staying in shape in the off-season.
Shaq looked at the NBA as his job, which it obviously was, but he also had the attitude that he was only putting in work when he was on "company time." So, in the off-season, he vacationed, ate whatever he wanted and didn't do anything to stay in shape.
As I said, he definitely worked hard during the season, but did nothing to stay in shape in the off-season. He wouldn't even have lingering injuries taken care of in the off-season because "I got hurt on company time, I'm gonna heal on company time."

Hakeem > Shaq
Shaq was a giant who received the pass, turned and ran over whoever was standing there and dunked the ball, then missed a free throw because he got the foul. He was great at what he did, but that's all he did...
